=The lynching of raza in the Southwest=
Mexican And Mexican Americans were attacked and lynched in the American southwest between the years of 1846-1925.This was around the time that many blacks were lynched in the south. The research on these lynchings is still somewhat new,as light was shed on this tragic point in US history as of 2006.There is believed to have been thousands of these lynchings but only over 500 were documented. These killings begin with the aftermath of the 1848 treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo that ended the Mexican American war and handed over half of Mexico’s territory that included California,Arizona,Texas,New Mexico,Nevada, and Colorado to the US.The grim reality came down upon our people when they were picked off and lynched for little to no reason at all, such as the whites believing that thier jobs were being taken away from them(sound familiar?),practicing "witchcraft", refusing to leave lands occupied by whites, and for talking spanish on the street.Mexican and Mexican American women were also lynched if they refused sexual advances from Anglo men. These killings occured with the full help of racist law enforcement, the Texas Rangers had a deep hate towards Mexicans and those of Mexican descent.Since raza had little to no political power or social standing in the "New Nation" these agressive attacks and killings upon them went rampant. The whites wanted to eradicate the southwest of Chicanos/as and Mexicanos/as completely.

👍Generosity is a value we Natives must continue to pass on to our young ones! “Parents often gave so much to the needy that they frequently impoverished themselves, thus setting an example to the child of self denial for the general good… Children must early learn the beauty of generosity. They are taught to give what they prize most, that they may taste the happiness of giving.” - Charles A. Eastman, Lakota

Christopher Columbus coming down just now in Los Angeles. He needs to come down all over the country. As do all white supremacists and bigots, no matter the era, no matter their contribution.

Bye Bye Colombus. Thank you to all who came to witness this historic moment. So honored to have been a part of it. The Native people of the Americas are honored today.
