Last day of baseball and two weeks until September!? 🙉
I’ll be honest, when my boys were little I used to count the days until school started up again (sorry boys👦🏼👦🏻;)
I have to say this summer is different🌞💓! (I could use at least one more week😉).
Finally found the right frames for some prints I had been wanting to hang on this wall 🖼⤴️
You should see all the holes though🕳🔨🕳🔨🕳🔨
I am not very good with laying out a gallery wall on the floor first 👎🏼😂
We absolutely LOVE this framing of our lips print by @vixing_my_abode 🖤 She was inspired to go dark by one of our all time favourite interiors mavens @patirobins 👌🏽💋 Pati recently contributed to an incredible list of interiors tips we’re creating “What the Best Interiors Influencers Are Doing in Their Own Homes Now” ✨👌🏽 If you’d like to get hold of that list of hot tips, it’s out on Friday just in time for some weekend DIY. Make sure you’re signed up to the mailing list via our bio link to get it! 💋 #styleitdark

I've said it before, but I LOVE seeing how you guys style your purchases from my shop! When @wanderwest.home bought that teeny floral piece (bottom right), she told me she had a collection it'd fit with. I had no idea that meant an entire wall of beautifully coordinated panels. 😍 Seriously, I can't believe how good these look in collection form! So glad I could be even a teensy part of it -- thank you for sharing, Channing!
Kitchen shelf update featuring one of the menu prints I talked about in my blog. I need more open shelving and less cupboards immediately!
Looking forward to the @iconic_lights event with @grillodesigns tonight, hopefully will meet some of you in actual person! I’ll be the one hiding in the corner - I’m terrible at these things! 🙈😂
The next week or so will be the last of ClodaghKay.com When I started it, it was out of a desire to do something more creative which I’ve achieved - I love the prints I’ve designed, I love seeing them in people’s gorgeous homes, I love that I’ve kept to the quality I wanted at the beginning and that I built a little tiny something from a big fat nothing.
What I hadn’t thought about was the way in which I’d feel a real pressure to sell myself and my life like a brand, or the way other people would blatantly copy designs and ideas. Or the constant requests for freebies. Or the hours spent on custom design requests to never hear from the person again. Or shops that contact you asking if you sell wholesale because they love your prints, you say yes and never hear from them again. I also didn’t think about how I would be able to fit it in around my family and my full on, full time job. Small businesses may be called ‘small’ but they take a LARGE amount of time - never underestimate what goes in to setting up a small business and what goes into sustaining it.
On a positive note, I’ve designed some great stuff (in my opinion ha ha) and hopefully made a few people very happy. There are some of you who have supported me pretty much from the very start and I apologise to you for not sticking it out, and send my heartfelt thanks to you for your constant likes and comments and orders. Any of you who want a design, I’ll be happy to do the odd one here and there.
So, I’ll be listing the prints I have left at reduced prices in the next week or so. I’m not sure what I’ll do with this account! Maybe I’ll keep it and bore you silly with photos of the Larry Dog and my new house reno if we’re lucky enough to get sold and moving to the coast.
All the Love, C. x
So we have started hanging pics on the other side of our staircase and another gallery wall is growing! Instead of it making it feel narrower and closed in - it feels wider already as there are reflections! More to go up soon! Tip- I think that the best way to start a gallery wall is to put up art that you feel passionate about and let it grow organically over time! It will just work! Most of our art has some sort of meaning or we know the artist etc! Also we have many that we have bought from artists who exhibit at the summer exhibition at the RA! A great source of smallish artists and limited editions! As well as the big artists too of course! And always wherever you go keep your eyes out for original and limited edition art! Be brave with your gallery walls!
