Winter means truffle season is here! And a few of these babies are coming home w me.
I, by no means is an expert on the subject. “Truffles do not always ripe,” they say. Ripe, overripe, underripe all in one pre-season truffle...what? I guess I just have to take their word for it when choosing the ‘ripe’ ones to take home. Honestly, I fancy nothing more than the taste, smell and flavour of it. Breakfast for the week sorted with a six-pack of proper @crumpetsbymerna made with @pepesaya buttermilk. Can’t wait to slather these with butter! Also tempted by these wood-fired beauties from @smokinggunbagels.
Finally went to try @rempahnoodles since I’ve heard so much about it! Tried both the prawn noodle and laksa but they were disappointing. The prawn broth was too oily while the laksa broth was too thin plus the rice vermicelli was overcooked. At HK$100 a pop, it’s not really worth it. Also the AC was way too weak - not sure if they were trying to present an authentic hawker center environment but J was dying in the heat. 😳
