Last heavy day until @culnanskingofthedeadlift and managed to get back up to moderately heavy weight on my deadlifts. All time sumo PR is 314 and managed 2 singles at 300 today. Hoping for bigger numbers next weekend!
Once upon a time exactly 2 years ago today, little Megan stepped on her first bikini stage 👙
For a majority of those 2 years I’ve identified myself as a “bikini girl” or a “bodybuilder” and everyday revolved around the goal of getting back on stage. There was prep season and offseason, nothing in between. In that time when I lived, breathed, literally ate fitness, I LOVED it, and I never thought it would be any other way.
Today, fitness is still a huge part of my everyday life. I don’t think I could ever get rid of the discipline that past bodybuilding seasons have taught me. But these days I’ve discovered that indeed there are other parts of my life that are equally, if not more, important as fitness 😱 and that’s completely ok. Seeing lines and vascularity, building a huge butt, flexing my gainz/shredz is cool and all, but so is eating good food, getting strong, and actually focusing on other things in life like relationships/school/my career 👌#finallygettingthispriortiesthingright
Happy Tuesday ✨
I had a great upper body workout today and I finally began to write down my workouts so I thought I’d share them too, swipe to check it out 📸
In a great mood today, midterms are done and I’ve come to a little realization. I’m currently in the best shape I’ve ever been in my life and the benefits aside from obviously gaining confidence have been life changing. • I’ve always struggled with being so so tired and having no energy. I wasted a lot of time over sleeping because I was so drained constantly. Nothing could get done without a coffee first and now I’m waking up without even needing my alarm, full of energy. Obviously I still have some rough days but I now have more good days than bad. • I feel so strong, I’ve never felt strong like this before and I’m just loving the way I feel and how my body is changing as I push myself more.
Hope everyone has a fantastic day 💗 #fitness#progress
So my boyfriend and I were talking about our fitness journeys today and it had been something I’ve avoided talking about. In this collage, on the left I weighed 220 one week post delivery of my 3rd baby by c-section. The middle was in 2015 at my best look at 159, 6-7x a week at the gym lifting heavy, eating extra clean and post tummy tuck to remove the extra skin and the hernia I had. The right is now at 172, mostly walking and running for workout and not eating anything like I was a couple of years ago. I’ve been through the loss of my mother in 2016, and my older brother 2 months ago. Full time school which I’m not in anymore (taking a year off to recoup for my business) and then divorce. I’ve had my thyroid freak out and a pituitary tumor (that is gone!) and other hormone flip flops last fall that caused me to reach 185 at one point with a mess up in medicines. I’m learning my fitness journey has not been this picture perfect straight line and it is SO easy to fall off. It is all mental. The body go where the mind does. I’ve batted some anxiety and depression this year as well with all the crazy changes and mentally, I’m finally feeling like myself again lately. Physically, not so much. I’m up 10-13 lbs and not sure my body fat but I need to get this back and better. Kinda where I’m currently ❤️ #weightlosstransformation#transformationtuesday#fitnessjourney#girlswholift#momswholift
A huge confidence booster and a PR I needed. 315 for 4 rpe7, but honestly looked like rpe 5. I would’ve yelled after my set but I’m not trying to get kicked out lol
8 weeks out. Let’s eat @musclemanmarcus
✨ This is me before and after the LIFT + HIIT Project! I think my favorite part about this program was the strength I gained! I actually gained 4lbs but lost 7 inches. Even though my arms and legs got bigger, My back and waistline toned up and shrunk! I had so much fun being a part of such a wonderful group of fitness friends. They kept me accountable and cheered me on, keeping me motivated. ✨
I’m so proud to call this super hero of a woman my momma! Not only is she raising my 6 year old nephew and working full time but she just turned 53 last weekend 💁🏼♀️. She’s seriously killing it in ALL areas of her life including her health + fitness 💪🏻.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey to becoming the BEST version of YOU 💕
Test: 2k row, rest 5:00, 4x500m at avg 2k row pace, 60s rest b/w. I don’t want to talk about how close I was to PRing my 2k 😑🙃
A little extra accountability thanks to Hammer 🔨! Let’s be real, he was just in the way 😂 last interval was my fastest so I guess I could thank him ❤️ #myboo#hesohappy
Session 2...find 3RM back squat and a nasty little metcon where my legs felt like they were trudging through mud. #wrekt 300 for a triple and called it there! It was heavy.
