Today. My mom was celebrated 30 years to the date of being employed by @bankofamerica. And seriously, I am so proud of my momma! Came her to the United States when she was 17 years old, with no family and no money. And what made it the hardest was she had NO more than a 6th grade education. Worked retail for years when she got here, then 30 years ago today she applied and worked at the bank with little English and barely started school again at a 6th grade level. And what she has accomplished in these 30 years is just simply amazing. But what is most important of all is that my mom literally in my biggest inspiration. I always post the things I do with my mom cus I honesty admire her and most of all love her.
Currently I’m doing 45 minutes on the stair master and don’t wanna be here at all. In all honesty I’m so negative lately. Hating everything and everyone. I’ve been in a prep for basically 5 months come November. I really just wanna give up because of how tired physically and mentally I am but I’m not going to cuz I ain’t no bia. Came across this picture from this weekend and it gave me a little more of a push to why I’m doing this, how far I have come and pushes me towards where I want to be. I don’t want any sympathy or any “you got it bro” “don’t give up” because to be honest that doesn’t motivate me nor do I care. So I’m sorry if this comes off as negative or mean, but this is real and this is how I’m feeling right now and wanna share it with you guys. I think I would be selling myself short and being a fake if I was constantly saying GRINDTIME LETS GO! Because we all know that’s a bunch of lies. This is raw, and everyone who competes knows how grungy this crap gets but it’s funny because somehow we love this! Sometimes in life you’re “damned if you do, damned if you don’t.” If she wasn’t working on her fitness her friend would probably tell her that she needs to 🙄 isn’t it strange that people can be so invested in YOUR life and not their own?
At the end of the day, the way people react to you doesn’t always have to do with you. A lot of times it has to do with them and their issues. When people try to bring you down, it’s not a personal attack. It is them trying to cope and deal with their own shortcomings and insecurities.
A lot of people say sickness is no excuse to go to the gym but I’m very fond of listening to my body and giving it rest when I know I need it. I’ve been out for nearly 5 days and been getting in less than 2 meals a day but I’m starting to recover slowly. Thank you for everyone who checked in on me!
