Tonight's engagement session was way too much fun!!! I have said this a lot lately, but I'm gonna say it again - I freaking LOVE my couples! Ben and Katie are so perfect together and they have that sweet, young, and playful kind of love that everyone wants! We also explored around downtown Guelph, got Starbucks, and found all the pretty fall colours we could - which are a lot of my favourite things! I also tested out a few new prompts I got from @jeffnguyenphoto today, and I love that these two were up for anything and made all my prompts and poses look adorable!
This engagement shoot is on the blog!
Thought I would share a black and white because this is one of my favorites from their session! Craig and Angela were so much fun and we had such a beautiful fall day in Kitchener for their photos! Link in profile!
I missed Canadian Thanksgiving by a bit because Chris and I are on the road heading down to Florida, but I didn’t want to forget to share my thankfulness for @chrissosaphotography ❤️ It feels like God literally threw him into my life when I least expected it—I didn’t do anything to deserve it, we were just both placed into the right place at the right time, and our lives aligned perfectly. I fall more in love with him every single day, and can’t get over how kind, patient, and loving he is. Chris has such a servant’s heart. He loves to encourage people and make them smile when they’re having a bad day! He is endlessly creative and talented, secretly an awesome car singer (shhh, don’t tell him I told you 😂), and makes awesome road trip playlists—plus for some reason he doesn’t mind that I sleep through half the road trip while he does all the driving! I’m so lucky that he’s my man 😍💕 I love you, Chris!!

Tonight, with these two.. made me feel SO HAPPY.
I was seriously exhausted from a long day of prepping for thanksgiving weekend doing groceries, running errands, trying to finish painting, cleaning up, and organizing at our home. I was stressed because I have a wedding tomorrow and won't be able to do much else at the house before Sunday when the family comes over.
After this session with Steph and Andy, I felt relieved and joyful again! Seriously, I LOVE my couples! I LOVE my job!
Sorry to be so corny with the real emotions here, but it is Thanksgiving weekend and all I can think is that I am seriously so so SO GRATEFUL for my couples and I am beyond thankful for this job that I get to do!! I am also thankful for a hard working hubby like Scott - all the hard work he put in today painting, helping me clean - and now I feel like I can go to work feeling less stressed and knowing that he will be able to get the rest done tomorrow!
I can honestly say at this time in my life that I feel so blessed! After a rough start to my year, that is an amazing thing to be able to say wholeheartedly.
Let’s close out the rest of 2018 with lots of positivity and looking forward to what’s next in God’s plans for our lives!
I hope you all have a happy thanksgiving weekend with family and friends! I am off to shoot a wedding tomorrow in Kitchener and Elora, then we are hosting thanksgiving in our new home for my family on Sunday, and on Monday Scott and I are headed to the Rockton Fair with his side of the family that lives here, so Sarah and Adrian. :) Doesn't get much better then this!
The biggest mistake I have made so far with planning my wedding to Chris has been not starting early enough! I work in the wedding industry and I STILL didn’t understand how long these things take! 😩 If you want a stress-free planning experience, learn from my mistakes and plan EARLY!!
I am a perfectionist, and I always want to see every available option before committing to something, but that has made me procrastinate HARD on some major wedding decisions! We ended up sending our invitations out by email because I wanted to make them myself, but I spent so long trying to make them perfect that we no longer had time to print them! I spent so long searching for the perfect wedding dress that I had to pay a rush fee to get it in time... And my bridesmaids’ dresses are actually going to be from Amazon, because who knew that bridesmaids dresses at specialized bridal shops have to be ordered almost as far in advance as wedding dresses?! 😳
If your planner, your friends, or even google, tells you that you need to have your invitations sent out x months before the wedding, or that you should have your dress picked out x months in advance, don’t do what I did and assume that’s just a suggestion! You’ll be stuck paying rush fees and searching for alternative options!! 🤦🏻♀️
If you have planned or are planning a wedding, what is the biggest mistake you’ve made?
Spent the night culling and editing after shooting this engagement session! So here is a little sneak peek from Melissa and Kyle's engagement session at the Guelph Lake Conservation Area! Loving this location more and more! We got a little rain on us, but we didn't melt or get totally soaked, so that’s always a plus and we still managed to get some great shots in like this one! Looking forward to their wedding in another year! ...now time to sleep to prep for tomorrow’s wedding!
Double posting tonight cause I promised I would share some sneak peeks for these two lovers who got in front of my camera tonight for their engagement session!! :D Jordynn and Braden, I can't wait for your wedding day next year!
