So I answered my earlier question: why would I do a full marathon the day after a half? Cause I can! Perfect day, perfect running partners, perfect fans, amazing cheering along the course and great volunteers. Let’s not forget that all all this goes to AACR for cancer research! Next race...Zion Ultra 50K in Utah for me and half marathon for Junior! #ironman#phillymarathon#libertychallenge#zionultra50k#halfironman
Didn’t want to. Did it anyway! Thanks @susan.marie27 for the push! Had a little zone 2 HR run this evening (9 min run within zone 2 with 1 min walk x4)... nothing too crazy... training in HR zones is interesting. You feel like you could push a little harder but that’s not the purpose of it. Sometimes you’re not racing the clock or going a certain distance. Sometimes you’re just running in the zone! Such as life! #alwaytraining#halfironman#chatty#zonetraining#running
From yesterday’s first swim #postpartum
Swimming. Is. Hard. .... but there’s something so serene about being underwater and forced to breathe correctly.
My goal for my swim workouts is to get 40 laps (a little over a mile) in 45 minutes or so. My last 70.3 swim time was a PR of 1.25 miles in 29 minutes, which was pre-babies and in my 20s... so it’s a nice goal to have but nothing I’m expecting for a long time!
It felt SO good to get back in the pool. I’m no swimmer and my form is crap but it’s fun and gets me moving!
Kick-board and pull-buoy drills, trying different strokes, working on different breathing techniques are all ways I mix up my laps and keep things exciting.
Do you have any swim workouts you love and care to share? I’m always looking to mix it up!
Over the weekend I covered the distances of my @ironmantri race in 3 weeks! Friday 1.2 mile 🏊🏻♂️. Saturday 57 mile 🚴🏻♂️. And today a 13.1 mile 🏃🏻♂️. I now have 3 weeks to figure out how to do it all back to back to back😂. Once again link in my bio if you can help me reach my goal to help the families of fallen and hurt police Officers.
