Can't you see this paired with a deep steel grey to make it pop??? First braid spun for the contrast color on the #sipilasweater (my January sweater) -- 260 yards of dense sport-weight yarn. I'm always amazed at how much white the fiber starts out with and how little white actually ends up in the spin yarn! Instead all the deep candy-bright colors become these heathery watercolored hues. Spinning is such color magic sometimes!!!! #fiberopticyarns#handdyedfiber#wemakeyarn#spinnersofravelry
It's raining here (and is forecasted to rain the next 2 days -- 4 inches.). It's Monday, which is always the most difficult day of the week since it's the day I do pretty much nothing except admin. Either way you look at it, much comfort is needed this morning. I'm settling down with a coffee and this lovely happy braid of Merino/Superwash Merino/Silk and spinning. I held back 2 of these braids a year or so ago with nothing in mind at the time. Just because the colors were happy. Today they were singing their siren song to be spun. While I generally collect fiber without any specific plans, I spin with intention. I believe this makes me a better spinner and I am focused on the quality of the spin much more than if I just spin without a final project in mind. This (and its sister braid) is destined to be spun without dividing the braid for maximum color length, Navajo plied to keep the colors pure, with a final thickness of sport weight. I'm looking for Ca. 550-600 yards for the contrast colorwork in a #sipilasweater where the main color will be a deep grey. I think this will be a lovely January sweater knit!!! #fiberopticyarns#handdyedfiber#wemakeyarn#handspunyarn
(Werbung Advertising) good morning my friends. It's stormy in Berlin. But it isn't so much as announced. I am glad. 🌾🍁🌻
Grey Dusk is my Monday colourway. Here shared on my Kid Mohair silk base. You can find it into my etsy shop 😍
My vacation is started with a slow morning start. After dyeing and some shop activities I will manage to record a short video section of spinning. For my next podcast episode.
I have something new on my wheel.
