So i've been on this vegan journey for about 4 years now, and have recently found myself becoming very interested in eco-friendly and sustainable fashion. I was shocked to learn that a lot of common textiles are filled with harmful chemicals and plastic derivatives that we actually absorb into our bloodstreams while wearing them. What's even more shocking is that these textiles take 100's of years to biodegrade which causes serious harm to our planet and other living organisms.

I had my second appointment with Dr. Gill today!! I wouldn’t consider myself an athlete, and sometimes it’s hard for me to call myself a “runner” even though I run. lol But I’ve officially taken the next step in my “run career” and that’s seeking professional help to make sure that I’m running the right way. And yes there is a right and wrong way! The wrong way could cause injury and even force retirement and that’s something I’d like to avoid. My new bff Dr. Gill is going to help me with my form, endurance, breathing, proper stretching, and even with my diet (so I can get this high cholesterol down). Welcome to Summer!☀️ Summer, according to Chinese Medicine, is the most Yang time of year. It is associated with the Fire Element - as well as the Heart, Small Intestine, and the color Red. Summer is a time for joy, growth, movement, activity, and connecting with others. The weather is warm, energy is abundant, plants grow to their full potential, and our body's Qi is at it's peak.
During the summer months: wake early, go to bed later, drink plenty of water, and eat with the season by consuming cucumbers, mint, watermelon, leafy greens, zucchini, peaches, tomatoes, sweet corn, summer squash, celery, and basil.

Trying to improve your ankle mobility? This one is a good one, especially for those of you trying those pistol squats and finding your heel wants to come off the ground 😉 ▪️
Grab a dowel, PVC pipe, or cane or umbrella or broom, etc.
In a half kneeling position place your foot about a fist 👊🏼 length away from the pole in front of you. Then while keeping your heel down move your knee toward the pole. ▪️
It’s good to do this at different angles too, you’ll see my knee move on opposite sides of the pole. The ankle joint doesn’t just move in one plane. So find where it sticks the most and work there. ▪️
