Child-free evening so what are we going to do other than head to the cinema and chalk up number 31 of #mikes52filmchallenge in the form of the sixth installment of the Mission Impossible franchise, Fallout.
I've been a fan of the franchise since the beginning and I think it's a rare example of a long running series that has continued to improve with each addition. The action set pieces are incredible and the practical nature of the stunt work really adds a visceral quality to the scenes.
The way I judge a blockbuster like this is whether I come out of the cinema wanting to play out the film myself and as I popped to the loo afterwards I had to restrain myself from throwing the kid at the urinal next to me through a wall, so I'd say that's a job well done to Christopher McQuarrie, Tom Cruise and co.
An edge of seat action spectacular 8/10

I remember watching the first #MissionImpossible as a kid. It absolutely blew me away. It has remained one of my all-time favourite #action movies and watching it even now excites me as much as it did then.
While the other entries in the series were always very entertaining (although with the utmost respect to Mr #TomCruise, M-I:2 really hasn't aged well), I could never help but feel that none of the sequels matched up to the original. Until now.
#Fallout is a throwback to the action movies of old, before CGI took over and action movies were made by people actually doing insanely cool shit, this movie has everything: A great story, insane action sequences, characters you care about, good pacing. I haven't enjoyed an action movie this much for many, many years.
Really my only gripe is the helicopter chase at the end, which starts off so well, but ends up just a bit too over-the-tip, even for a franchise like Mission Impossible.
I heard many things about this movie before I saw it: Best entry in the series, best action movie of the year, one of the best ever. And while the first MI will always have a very special place in my mind, it's hard to argue with those statements.
Tom Cruise just knows how to do it and #HenryCavill is a very intriguing villain. #MoustacheGate was so totally worth it.
Balls to the wall, bone crunching, edge of your seat action, this movie is just absolutely incredible.
Favourite scene: #EthanHunt racing through Paris.
