You know what you should do on your wedding day? Whatever YOU want! If you want to play board games in the morning with your wedding party, do it! If a brunch reception is your jam... make it happen. If you want to make it an entire weekend event? It’s on. If you want to get married at a camp or a barn or on the beach or on a mountaintop or in a backyard... DO IT. This is your day to celebrate as a couple, so make it your own. Don’t apologize if you’d rather elope on a cliff, just the two of you. Don’t do what someone else wants you to do. If you want hundreds of guests and the most glamorous reception of the year... you do you & let’s celebrate with glitter and champagne. We have seen weddings with elephants and parades and brass bands and magicians and multiple religious officiants and farm animals and mid day breaks and limo rides and mountain hikes and board games and pizza for dinner and food trucks... There is no one way to celebrate your day, so be free to be YOU!
Ok, I’ve been pretty damn excited to have this sneak peek ready to share! Being asked by Jemma & Alex to photograph their wonderfully intimate wedding day was already amazing enough, but to choose the middle of highlands.... just totally speechless! A massive congratulations guys!!
When Kim told me that Mark proposed to her while they were playing a round of putt-putt golf, I knew we would be fast friends! Mini golf is something my husband and I also really enjoy and I love when my CCP Couples share the same interests as us! Kim also told me that at the end of their first date, Mark dipped her back and kissed her goodnight (a first for her)! Talk about romantic!! 😍✨⠀
I couldn't have been happier hanging out with them for their engagement photos in downtown Plymouth, MI! We were chasing the pretty light coming through the trees around the park square and I tried to find all the hidden gems that Plymouth has to offer from a super cute mail truck to the Penn Theatre. The weather didn't quite feel like fall yet at 80 degrees, but I hope it's coming soon! 🍁⠀
If you enjoyed this sneak peek of Kim and Mark's engagement session, be sure to follow @CourtneyCarolynPhotography to be the first to know when more images from this romantic fall engagement are posted!
Maybe it’s time to reintroduce myself. I’m Jamison. My husband Blayne calls me Byrd. My 2 year old son calls me MAMA MAMA MAMA. My Great Pyrenees Babs often makes it into my photos. We moved to an old farm a year ago and we are making it our own every day. I have an MBA and own a fitness facility while raising my son, Briggs. Can you tell we like B names? I pour my heart into every dreamcatcher I make and I swear I dream about making them every night. I never get bored. I cut my own hoops because it really takes me through the entire process as a creator. I am every bit of that dreamer, and sage it with intention before sending it off to its new home. I hope you love them as much as I do. Xoxo, Jamison 🌙
My boyfriend just questioned why so many women wear tiaras on their wedding day, but no men wear crowns...just a heads up, I am reserving the right to end the whole thing if I walk down the aisle and my groom is wearing a crown, ok? Ok. 👑👎🙅♀️
I don’t think I’ve been home for more than 3 hours a day since we got back from Tofino! We’ve been on the move + go go go since the beginning of September to be honest. It’s been pretty hectic.
But, today Cody + I took a three + a half hour drive to these two engagements shoot (Cody just comes so I don’t have to drive that long alone, I know he’s the best). It was the best three hours of relaxing conversation till I laughed the whole time at the engagement shoot from how much Mikal hates photos. With another 3 hours home.
Sometimes a long drive can be all you need to reset + recharge. Today was a good day. With the husband + with these two who put up with my weird ideas.
Minimizing waste = the creation of BITESIZE dreams!! Left to right: Cleopatra👸🏻/Rockstar👩🏼🎤/Unicorn🦄/Mermaid 🧜♀️ As a creator I hate throwing away trimmings from my big dreamcatchers. For obvious reasons, because I purchased those supplies so I don’t want to throw them away! Also because I don’t want my craft to be contributing to waste building up in a landfill somewhere. I’m going to list these for sale on my Etsy after my vendor show in a couple weeks if there is any interest. They make great backpack charms/locker decorations/rear view mirror hangers.
I’ve been writing a sort of ‘manifesto’ for Hammitt Design as I start the process of updating my website in the next couple of weeks. Here’s a short excerpt from it:
“I want my client experience to feel Iike we’re two friends sitting on my couch, talking, laughing, sharing a drink (beer, margs, coffee, tea you name it). Essentially I want you to feel cared for and known.
As a bride you spend your entire wedding day with your photographer and I want all my brides to feel supported and loved, not just on their wedding day but throughout the entire process 🖤 I want to rejoice and celebrate with all my couples and capture their authentic love with joy and clarity. I want to tell the unique story of each wedding & couple with fresh eyes and be attentive to moments (big and small) that will undoubtedly become memories” 💫
you guys. stop what you’re doing now and go set up the new “screen time” feature if you have an iPhone. it allows you to set daily limits for yourself for time spent on your phone and on social media apps in particular. especially if you’re in a job or side hustle that requires you to be engaging on your social media platforms a lot— it can wear. you. down and frankly, steal your life away. a couple hours a day adds up to one month per year. yep, you read that right. and if you’re like me you spend way more time than that on your phone. i recognize the importance of being engaging as a business owner but i also know there’s wayyyyy more to life than these little pocket size devices! ok sorry rant over. just had to let you know this new feature is really eye-opening and worth sharing!
These two and their cute fam are moving across the country to Texas this week. Sad to see them go, but glad we got to spend Friday night together laughing and eating dinner while we sat on the ground surrounded by moving boxes. Can’t believe how much life has happened to all of us since this engagement shoot. Safe travels Amber and Ryan, love and miss you and the boys already! ❤️
This was taken in Mexico a year into our marriage. We honeymooned in Vegas and wanted to go overseas later on in our relationship and let me tell you, I’m so glad we did! During our honeymoon, I was super sick! I literally never get sick, but the stress of the wedding got to me and although I had a blast in Vegas, it was nice to travel together after things were settled and comfortable. If you could take a second honeymoon anywhere in the word, where would it be?
