Greetings from my parents’ backyard, with early fall apples! 🍃🍏🍃 Oh, how I missed every one of you, and have longed for interaction with you all. Enjoying your posts of your beautiful creations and communicating with you has become part of my daily life that has left an empty place in my heart since I’ve been in Germany.
Many of you have thoughtfully written and have offered me your love and prayers. I feel compelled to bring you another update: When I boarded my flight to be with my sick father and family, I cried all the way to Germany not knowing what state I would find my father. While he is hanging in there, albeit weak, sadly, we lost my dear uncle unexpectedly. He was my father’s younger brother, and they were very close. He was a wonderful man, we all loved him very much. He will be missed dearly!
As for my dad, he has gotten better, in some ways. But we have, as a family, accepted he will never walk again, due to his Dementia and Parkinson’s, despite the physical therapy he is receiving. We are doing the very best we can to take care of him so that his days are as comfortable and dignified as possible. My days taking care of dad are stringently regimented. He is completely bedridden and needs ‘round the clock’ care. On his better days there are moments when he is lucid, but then it slides away from him like water through open fingers. I cherish those moments when he calls me by name! I’m learning to be equipped being selfless and tasked with caring for my parent who is helpless and defenseless. Amazing, the strength and grace God gives us when we are faced with formidable tasks!
I’m just so overwhelmed and honored by all the messages and comments you, my friends, have given me. Reading them offers me the comforting balm during my time away. I look forward to returning home, interaction and commenting on your beautiful posts again soon. Wishing you all the richest blessings the beautiful melancholy fall season brings! 🍂

Not perfect. But I grow with each run. 🙌🏽
Look what you did @heirloomnaturally! Inspired by Simone’s wonderful presentation the other night, we finally got started our vegetable garden. As we’re a bit late to get going this year, we did buy some seedlings, but we’ve sown some seeds too. I can’t wait to finish the beds off tomorrow and get the plants in the ground. We will also need to fence this area off as we have too many 🐇😠
We had such a productive day. There really is something special about getting your hands into the dirt, breathing in the fresh air, and feeling the sun on your skin.
And, a shout out to my wonderful husband who makes all my requests a reality, with very few complaints!
