Yesterday when I made the 🍎 cake, I used the peels & cores from the apples to make apple jelly (scrap apple jelly). 🍏 My aunt Guynelle taught me this no pectin, 2-ingredient method when I was a little girl. 🧡 She had no children of her own and I spent every Friday night at her house. It was a refuge from a hard life at my home. 😢 Last Nov. 1, she left this lifestream after weeks in hospice. 💔 It was a great honor to be her caretaker and to be by her side every day. She gave so much to me my entire life. 💕 I miss her, but I can bring back our memories with simple homemade treats like this. ✨ Do you have food memories that keep you connected to someone you love but lost? .
Upcycled @bonnemaman_us jar was perfect for storing this jelly! It’ll keep for months in the fridge without the need for canning. 😉 It will not last that long. 🤣
The grapes 🍇 in our back yard must be some Pinot Noir or some other fancy wine pheno, Cuz this Jelly we made is the best damn grape jelly I have ever had. Welch’s and Smuckers ain’t got nothing on this #homegrown#harvest#jelly#homemadejelly
