Every day of your life you will find reasons to complain and every day of your life you will have reasons to be thankful. These two themes, complaint and gratitude, pull at the heart of each of us. They form fundamentally different ways of viewing the world because they are rooted in fundamentally different ways of viewing yourself. What is your default language? Do you find it easier to complain than to give thanks? Is grumbling the ambient noise of your existence? Are you easily irritated and quickly impatient? Do mundane things get under your skin? Would the people around you characterize you as a thankful person or a complaining person? The lifestyle of complaint and that if gratitude are both rooted in the way you view yourself. Complaint really is an identity issue. -NMM
When we bought our house the entire back half was divided up into 2 kitchens (yeah we aren’t sure why either) .
We decided to make this half our dining room and it has probably been the most neglected room in our house so far. It took us months to finally demo after the rest of the house was finished, we shove all the materials and tools we aren’t using in it, and aside from installing a new window we haven’t done much to it. .
But today I am so excited because we are about to leave and drive a few hours to pick up a set of antique wooden french doors to replace the back door! .
I am so excited that we were able to find exterior wooden french doors! We have been looking high and low for over a year! They will definitely need sanded down and stained and sealed but it will be so worth it. I’m already dreaming of all the natural light it’s going to bring into this dark little corner of the house. 😍
