Did you know we almost didn't have the saxophone? And I thought *I* was accident prone.
Adolphe Sax was born and lived in Dinant, Belgium and is lucky he survived childhood. Fell three stories ONTO HIS HEAD, swallowed a pin, burned himself terribly, fell into the river and almost didn't make it back. My favorite might be nearly being poisoned because his room was filled with varnish storage. And there are others.
Lucky for us, as I love the sax, he survived and made a BUNCH of instruments actually. The sax stuck though, and because of it. On the bridge over the water in Dinant, there are tons of beautifully painted street art saxophones.
Do you have a favorite instrument?
