L I V E & L E A R N.
#throwbackthursday goes to my 7.5st self on the left. If you saw my last transformation you'll notice I went from being a big girl circa 2006 to this teeny tiny human circa 2011- ive been on both ends of the spectrum so when i give advice, it comes from good place. Luckily Ive always had a bomb-ass personality 😉
Women often ask me how I got from 2016 self to my 2011/2012 'condition'. Well, I was misguided and obsessed with losing weight so I went hungry and I overtrained [NOT OKAY] The obsession was the product of years of being bullied for being 'overweight and ugly' #hellouglyducklingsyndrome 🦆 and pretty much found solace in that obsession.. downward spiral.
Around this time i met my ex boyfriend who was a bodybuilder and THE MOST caring and amazingly- patient person who taught me everything I needed to know to help myself [STARTING with nutrition].. ABOVE everything, I found love for lifting.
Over the past 7 years training I went from 7.5 stone to 12.4 stone [last weigh-in].. I can't say I ever set my current self as my goal.. because i definitely didnt. All I know is you will always end up where you need to be, Just a case of starting, Finding what you love and keep that Fire alive.

A different kind of shoulder press saw a video a few days ago and decided to give it a go. It's a bit difficult getting the weight up to begin the workout so I think I'll stick with the norm. If anyone else gives this a go tell me what you think about it. . . . . . . . . . . . 💿Lil Wayne-Hustlin
The idea behind the bulking phase is to build muscle.
In order to build muscle, you typically need to be taking in MORE calories and prioritize whole foods around proteins than you would need to maintain. Usually during this phase, you would focus on a calorie surplus diet and put more emphasis on lifting heavy, having longer rest time between sets, and doing less cardio.
Rest and proper nutrition is CRUCIAL. Your body rebuilds itself when you’re resting, NOT in the gym. (The gym is where you break down the muscle to be rebuilt later through your nutrition and sleep. Hence WINTER is the best season to Bulk up.
The idea behind the cutting phase is to decrease the excess body fat while keeping as much muscle acquired from bulking as possible. During this phase, you typically need to be on a CALORIE DEFICIT Diet and prioritize proteins to maintain as much muscle as possible. Usually in this cycle you up the intensity of your workouts while trying to maintain strength (less rest time, supersets, dropsets, incorporating plyos and other techniques to keep the heart rate elevated and calorie burn high). There is also typically more cardio during cutting.
Though at end you have to train according to your body type and your goals . Find what works for you and create a cycle that works best for you.
