the lesson that took me a long time to learn: I am loved. not because I don’t have people that love and support me - but because it is hard for me to accept love. I find myself turning away love or brushing it to the side out of discomfort.⠀
I write in a journal every morning and end each entry with daily affirmations. my most used affirmation is I am love & I am loved. identifying this took some time and introspection to track my response each time love and support is offered. now that it’s in my conscious mind, I sit with the involuntary discomfort I feel when love and support are offered to me and practice being open to receive it.⠀

You've probably heard of CLEAN EATING, but you may not know what it is exactly or how to go about cleaning up your diet.
It's about eating more of the best and healthiest options in each of the food groups—and eating less of the not-so-healthy ones.
That means embracing whole foods like vegetables, fruits and whole grains, plus healthy proteins and fats. It also means cutting back on refined grains, additives, preservatives, unhealthy fats and large amounts of added sugar and salt.
Even if you only take a few steps toward eating cleaner—cutting back on processed foods, for example, or eating more fruits and veggies (and, if it works for you, buying a few more organic)—it can still make an impact on your health.

my everyday mantra - get comfortable being uncomfortable. when my anxiety was at its highest, I was constantly striving for perfection, comfort, and ease. ⠀
it took a consistent yoga & meditation practice to realize that there is no growth inside your comfort zone. true change happens when you embrace uncertainty & change and move through it with grace.⠀
for a long time I avoided backbends. I didn’t feel confident doing them and my chest always felt tight - like it was impossible to breathe. then I decided to push myself past my comfort zone and hold each backbend one more breathe, incorporate one more backbend into each practice, and feel the emotions they evoked one more moment.⠀

We are all so aware of this fact.
And yet, finding time for oneself is so hard, we hardly ever succeed... _________

1. Plan for it. Ask for it.
2. Make it a priority.
3. Teach the people you live with about quiet time.
4. Use the spaces in between. This is an absolute winner 😉
5. Create at least one daily ritual that promotes quiet.
