One of my favorite things about moving to a new home is unearthing special stuff I’ve put away for safe keeping and then forgotten about! This sweater is older than I am. My godmother knit it for my mother, every single stitch. Growing up, my mom had a special sweater closet in the upstairs hallway, and I would look through it sometimes, for fun. (I was a strange child—don’t tell me you’re surprised?!) This sweater was always folded neatly on the shelf, and it always intrigued me. Maybe it ignited my love of knitting. Hopefully it will get chilly enough to wear it this winter in LA. I’m very selective about the items I choose to carry with me, and purging my belongings is one of my favorite stress-reducing activities....but something like this sweater, I’ll hold onto for as long as I’m around to hold onto anything.
My mom @kathyscriba and I went to see Legally Blonde the Musical last weekend! This is us all dolled up in our knits and getting ready to drink our #bendandsnap cocktails. 🍸
My mom is wearing the Omena Vest I knit her a couple years ago in @filaturadicrosa Tempo. And I’m cozied up in my @malabrigoyarn The Rainbow and the West Wind cowl - the pattern for which will be released next week by the way! Keep your eyes peeled for details that’ll be popping up soon! 👀
