Just this October, former US president Bill Clinton spoke at the Swell Conference, a blockchain gathering hosted by blockchain financial system Ripple.
Star. He also has two Olympic gold medals with the US Men’s Basketball team.
Bryant is known as one of basketball’s fiercest competitors, characterized by his hyper-competitive nature.
Even prior to his retirement in 2016, Bryant has shown keen interest in business. He has been actively pursuing various business efforts through his venture capital firm Bryant Stibel – a fund he formed with partner, entrepreneur Jeff Stibel.
The firm has investments in various technology companies including sports website The Players Tribune, sales platform RingDNA, and mobile game publisher Scopely. Bryant also has dealings with Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba.
He also has been actively working on various creative projects. He has a series on ESPN+ called “Detail” where provides deep analyses of basketball plays. He even won an Academy Award for his animated short, “Dear Basketball.” TRON plans to use the event as a venue to share lessons from its blockchain journey with various industry stakeholders.
The summit also looks to reach out to non-blockchain industries and promote the use of the technology in various markets.
Naturally, Bryant isn’t the first athlete-turned-entrepreneur one may think of when it comes to the crypto space. There has been no previous indication of his foray into blockchain, so it would be interesting to see if he would divulge his position concerning blockchain and crypto activities during the speech.
