Back and Hamstrings 🔥
Hamstrings are actually a pretty big weakness for me. Aka I have trouble feeling them in certain movements, but I’ve been getting better 🙌
Why is FEELING the muscle so important? 👇
It’s like running a marathon. 🏃♀️You COULD have someone just drive you to the finish line. But did you really accomplish running a marathon? No.
Same goes for weightlifting 🏋️♀️ You CAN just swing the weight around and make it move. But did you use the targeted muscle the entire time? If not, you’re not maximizing the exercise. 🤷♀️
The gym is my safe space. You can’t tell me a damn thing to piss me off once I walk through those doors. It takes a certain dedication to wake up & do this day in & day out. It takes even more dedication, or a special kind of crazy to do it 7 days a week 2 times a day. When you live this lifestyle some people can’t understand why you plan your social life around gym sessions, meals & posing practice. People don’t get it when you tell them no because of the gym. There’s some kind of chemical imbalance that makes us strive to be more than just “healthy”. We don’t just pick up & put down heavy shit. We grind everyday & make sacrifices. We build connections. So it’s rare to find people who understand & when you do you have to make sure you all stick together & motivate each other.
Side note: @planetfitness rang that stupid alarm on us 5 times ... for absolutely nothing. Posing practice is a part of the scene, don’t discourage it. You’re pushing away your biggest market & setting yourself up for failure 🎥: @adaefitness @adaerose

🦄Hehe hi! If you do these right your tuchus and quads are gonna blow the eff up in the sexiest way possible. It’s a simple exercise, in theory, but in practice most muggles royally screw it up. So grab a goblet of @unicornmagiccoffee and join me for a quick chat about the The Step-Up.
🦄TAKE HOME UNICORN POINTS TO REMEMBER🦄
❌Don’t jump off your back foot. Most people use all momentum pushing off the back leg rather than progressively driving through the front foot.
✅Instead of jumping off the back leg, slowly put as much weight in the front leg as possible until your back foot naturally lifts off the ground. It’s WAY harder this way and most people won’t need to use any extra weight to start. That’s ok. Technique is more important than lifting more weight every damn time.
❌Don’t let your front knee cave in. If you let that happen you’re wayyyy more likely to hurt your knee, and you also end up recruiting less glute so you don’t get the full benefit of the exercise.
✅ As you stand up, keep your knee in-line with your big toe. Squeeze the eff outa your abs and control yourself throughout the entire range of motion. The more control you have the more you’ll get outa the exercise.
✅You can use the step-up as a warm up drill or a main strength exercise on your lower body days. Generally speaking, anywhere between 3-5 sets of 5-8 reps/leg is plenty. Anymore than that and technique tends to go to shit.
❤️Happy butt cheeks❤
