Beautiful post. #Repost @wittenkitten with @make_repost
As a kid, I thought often about equality. I tried to understand the rationale behind racism and sexism, but I couldn’t figure it out. It never made sense to me.
As I got older, I started admiring activists. I wished I had been born in another time — like the civil rights, WWII, or the suffragette movement — so I could stand up for others. During the last few years, however, I’ve realized I wasn’t born in the wrong era. I was meant to live during this time so I can continue the fight for equality for ALL people.
I believe in love over hate and peace over war. I realize that all lives should matter, but they don’t and won’t until we start valuing Black lives. I recognize that we treat people of color, women, the LGBTQIA community, immigrants, and people of different mental and physical abilities as less than. That’s not acceptable. It never has been, and I’m happy to work toward a time when we’ll all have the same access to our inalienable rights.
Today, as I walked through a protest against white supremacy, I saw so much love. People were making friends with strangers. They were sharing umbrellas and snacks. One woman was handing out flowers saying, “You are loved.” It was beautiful. And it helped revive my faith in humanity.
We’re not there yet. Many obstacles are preventing us from full equality. But we’re on our way. Don’t lose hope. Keep standing up for what’s right and keep spreading love 💙

was an incredible discovery. This small city has many things to see and it is surrounded by nature. For example the road to get to a water mill seemed to be the Bamboo forest in 💚

#thisisnotconsent#ididnotconsent a seventeen year old girl was raped at a party by a 25 year old man, and the man was acquitted because she was wearing a thong. Apparently thongs are now "rape me" signs that you can't even see until you're about to rape someone???
I didn't wear underwear when it happened. I don't typically wear underwear out of the house. But I was still fighting back, I was still pinned down and forced to stay quiet, I still kicked and fought back, I cried, I told him over and over again that I didn't want it. But it doesn't matter because when I see this campaign I can't even post a picture of the underwear I was wearing because I didn't have any on.
ONE HALF OF TRANS PEOPLE EXPERIENCE RAPE IN THEIR LIFETIMES. I AM NOT FUCKING OKAY ABOUT IT.
Not asking for your pity, I don't fucking want your pity, but you'll give it to me anyway because apparently this society loves forcing people into something they didnt consent for. Maybe that's where you should start instead of half of you turning me into a sex toy and the other half turning me into pity porn. I'm good now. So many people are not. So many people are bound by the seemingly innocent place chains the patriarchy forced onto their waist in the first place, so many people are defined by the chains they wear because we're told that the types of handcuffs we wear are just different types of fetishes for our owners. I'm done being a fetish.
