Fed 4 today, and another hugely diverse group very grateful for a good feed. So thank you to my students for taking part in that and continuing to support and provide those meals through your own training 😀
This gentleman was pretty stoked with the amount of food and was pretty humble in what he would accept... Sometimes the people ask if I've got enough, but this gentleman was adamant in making sure I didn't give too much, so that I always had enough for me first, and from there he would accept. But not if it would deplete me.
Super cool to see that, although being on a fast I don't eat until a few hours later anyways, but good reminder to get that info from this gentleman and re-in force that lesson.
You can only give what you have, but if you have nothing left, then you're no help to anyone else and no help to yourself.
He phrased it more elegantly, but the general gist is while it's great to help others, if you do it to the detriment of yourself, it ends up hurting not only you but other people you could have helped if you continued to give to yourself.
Be it personal time, journaling, training, reading, painting, playing music, shopping or whatever it is that fills you up, it's important to do that as well.
He wouldn't take one of my pens to draw with because he didn't want to deplete me. He told me he could make ink out of his cigarette ash and the oil from the tuna I'd given him 😀
He made his own flutes and explained to me a bit about the making of them, balancing the material and what the spacing on the instrument means and represents in terms of a life and different stages.
Whole new outlook on those instruments, and a very new appreciation.
Everyone was very full today after their meal, they we all very grateful and all left smiling 😀
Massive thank you to my students again, I love training you and I love doing this for you guys as well. Legends!
