I've been dead since Sunday so here's a late recap of my longest training run:
I wanted to quit ✋❌✋️ That about sums it up 😂
And now tapering starts!
It's a nerve wrecking and exciting time for anyone getting ready to race, let's hope the wind is at our backs!
Endurance workout: 2mi warm up. 4x 3mins @ 6:00-6:10 pace/90s jog/200m @ 37-40s/90s jog. 1.5mi warm down
This was a new workout for me.
The 1st couple of reps I was a little slow but hit all the targets at the end of the workout and that felt great after being ill for a couple days with stomach flu.
Looking forward to seeing what I can do for another 1 mile time trial this Friday.
Anybody throw down anything new for #tracktuesday ?
Tonight Adam and I made our debut at @pettswoodrunners and wow am I on a high! Really needed some running motivation after Berlin and I think I’ve found just that! Running with a group of new people, on a new route and having a pacer to give me that boost was exactly what I needed! A beautiful reminder that, although I’ve beaten myself up about not managing a sub 4 at Berlin, I’m still fit and strong and boy did it feel good to run 10k at a decent pace and just feel like I could keep going! Embrace those days when running feels effortless and pity all those who never experience the love of running 💕 #pettswoodrunners#lovetorun#thisgirlcanrun#runnersofinstagram
No running since last Tuesday due to injury. Back to help out at the beginners class at running club tonight. Felt great being able to encourage a lady who is where I was 18mths or so ago (overweight, self conscious, have to walk sometimes). Though still me at times it was great to tell her it's ok to walk, she is up and out and doing it. Managed 2 laps of the track and because I was going at her pace I was able to keep going with no extra damage to injury, and she seemed happy to get round with minimal walking. Love giving back and love my running club x
