On a cold #autumn morning I clambered down the stairs and made my way to the brightly lit kitchen to make a bowl of cereal, too bright for this early in the morning if you asked me. I was ten at the time, getting ready for school. I limped my way from the kitchen to the dinning room table. "Whats #wrong?" My mom asked. I said nothing was wrong. She pressed "why are you #limping?" I said that the inside of my leg #hurt. It felt #swollen... Well the #swelling was actually fairly #significant to be causing that much #pain as I was #wincing just eating my cereal. The next thing I know im at the doctor being told they need to do a biopsy. The #doctor explained it to me in very simple terms.. I think I understood, maybe I didnt.
The time came for the #surgery and i #gripped on to that yellow #bear for dear #life. I was given relaxors and a slight #anesthetic before being wheeled away from my #parents into the surgery room. Once we got to the double doors the nurse said Mr. Bear has to go away now... this was not a #childrens hospital! As you will later find out Mr. Bear came with me into the surgery room at another #hospital.
My hero of a #brother won this bear for me at the town fair, and it has been my good #luck surgery bear ever since! Ive been through my fair share of surgeries. Im not sure my brother ever knew how much that bear meant to me.
What where the results of the #biopsy? More will be told in next weeks post.
Have you been through surgery? If so how did you cope?
