My musing begins with a color palette and ends with community. I enjoy being able to express my artistic side and I just so happen to be inclined to do so with cake even though I don't really have a sweet tooth. There is something about a meringue that invigorates me. I also love a good challenge. To be frank, every tim e I decide to make a cake I'm excited, but when it comes to actually putting it together, I become afraid that I won't be able to pull it off. When in culinary school I did worst in baking in pastry. So how did I end up here? Only by the grace of God, He placed this gift within me. To be able to fully express my gift, I choose not to be bound to a client by selling my cakes but instead inviting others to participate with me in the experience.
Most of my stories now begin with cake. Though this cake is small, it has a great story. 6 months ago, I met someone, modest and kind with a desire to learn to bake. I opened my email to receive a message from her, typed out as well as she could with her broken English and she wanted to learn to bake- from me!
A humble relationship began. She is beginning to spread her wings as a baker and I am thrilled to see her soar. In 2 short weeks, she will depart for home on the other side of the world.
This cake is a great memory of something that we created together. She's perfected my recipes, although I decorated this cake, she baked it by herself. Bright, sweet and lovely just like she, this cake is.

Now THIS is an appropriately planned national food day. Not like that mac & cheese day in July nonsense... 🙃
Who’s down to celebrate #NationalIceCreamDay today?? 🍦🍦🍦 It’s Sunday, it’s the middle of summer and there’s no better time to indulge in a Blackberry Elderflower Ice Cream Soda. Recipe in profile!
What’s that? You’re looking for more ice cream treats 🍦this summer?!? Me too! Me too! I partnered with @Tillamook to bring you this Neapolitan Ice Cream Pie (recipe in comments👇🏼). We start with a super simple, chocolate graham cracker crust and then layer in Tillamook Premium Oregon Strawberry Ice Cream and Old-Fashioned Vanilla. Then to give this beauty mega jazz hands we drizzle over some chocolate, heap with fresh (and not too sweet) whipped cream and top with a handful of strawberries. Check out my Stories for more Neapolitan Ice Cream Pie details!!! xoxo 💋💋💋 #Tillamook_Partner#TillamookIceCream#DairyDoneRight#nationalicecreamday
Made this beauty for my grandparents 65th wedding anniversary. It melted a bit during the 2 hour drive in the heat, but overall it turned out great. And that’s their original cake topper from 1953!! The bottom tier is a funfetti cake with strawberry cream. Middle layer is a buttermilk cake with lemon curd and lemon simple syrup, and the top layer is chocolate cake with cookies and cream filling.

Yellow submarine, yellow submarine” - #thebeatles
This song was on repeat in my head while making this cake! Each #customcake is so unique and this was another awesome cake to make!
This cake is a twist on an Italian classic, my absolute favorite treat as a kid - spumoni ice cream. Layered pistachio, almond, cherry and chocolate with vanilla buttercream and hot fudge drizzle... and to go with the ice cream theme, cherries on top.
Let me introduce you to my favorite way to enjoy red wine in the Summer! Tinto de Verano, translating literally to “red wine of Summer” in Spanish, is sort of a pared down, more simple version of sangria! It’s typically a red wine combined with a sweet, effervescent Spanish lemon-lime soda. I’ve teamed up with @zevia to create a lighter version with no added sugar using their Lemon Lime Twist Soda! It’s truly so refreshing and delicious! I’m gonna be sipping it all Summer long. Here’s how you make it! #sponsored
6 oz @zevia Lemon Lime Twist Soda, chilled
6 oz Spanish red wine, such as Tempranillo
Juice of 1 lime
Lime slices, for garnish
In a glass filled with ice, add in the wine and lemon lime soda, and lime juice. Stir, garnish with lime slice, and enjoy! That’s really it! Serves 1.
