I always thought meditation was kind of useless and weird, but giving it a try was one of the best decisions of my life!
It helps release stress, calm your mind and reach a deeper level of focus, which is an incredible advantage for an athlete no matter what field he's in! 🧘♂️🌱
Meditation takes practice 🙏🏼
People often confuse meditation with sitting in silence, with no thoughts - but this is impossible!
Meditation is about sitting WITH your thoughts, being aware of them as well as your breathing ✌🏼
It’s about being present, being in the moment and connecting the the original life source that runs through us
Have a listen to the latest In Focus session which is a short meditation practice you can try for yourself at home 💜 #DreamersDisease
When you think you have failed,
you have actually tried.
When you think you have fallen,
you can actually fly. — #lettersfromkayla#realworldpocahontas .
It’s not hard to be hard on yourself for making a mistake or for “failing” in your eyes.
But what really is failure?
When was the last time you actually broke that word down in your mind?
Does failure need to be a bad thing?
Or does failure actually mean that you are trying? You are on a pursuit of the life of your dreams.
Don’t ever stop trying. .

Back into the momentum of the week. Whether you are able to hold on or slip off, the energy of society will keep moving. Some hold on, because that's all they know. Others Learn to let go and find their own way.
Shout out to @_tyflow_ for the inspiration.
To love truly means to allow others around us to breathe, to be, to feel. To love truly means to be there for others, not with hectic words but with our full attention, presence and our entire love. ❤️
💭Let me tell you one thing I believe is ruining the idea of yoga. ☁️🐯
The idea that there is yogi-like behaviour and unyogi- like behaviour. This unrealistic idea that yogis are always peaceful, use non-violent words to express truth, and treat difficult confrontation or discussions with flowery words and rainbows is so opposite of what Shiva and destruction teaches us about life in general. .
If it’s one thing I’ve learned from this past year, it’s that destruction and conflict are so necessary & in order to build something real, you have to be willing to lay down all your cards and speak your truth. Even if your ego needs to speak. Because that’s where you’re going to learn something about yourself and the world around you. And it’s going to be ugly, difficult and hurtful sometimes. But have you ever noticed that when you really got out how you really feel about someone or something and totally destroyed a part of a relationship that was not well built, either with yourself or someone else, only then did you really have a chance to build something real and strong? Only then did you get to see yourself and dig into where you can grow? Only then did you see someone else’s raw truth and then become totally clear.
This absolute BS that yogis are like guru seekers who float through life gracefully and don’t get into real conflict is so destructive to yoga. It buys into the idea that we are aiming for perfection, instead of fully experiencing authenticity. I don’t buy it. .
Shiva has taught me to accept conflict, but also to use it as a mirror to see myself and where I can grow. But also that sometimes to destroy something is for the absolute best. Either to rebuild a relationship, or to understand what your boundaries are. .
We may be yogis, but we are also human. And if you think otherwise that your truth is not ugly or worth showing? You’re missing the whole point.
If you can ENGAGE & ROOT down in the darkness with someone else and honour them for just showing up in a real present & ugly way... then you may finally have the chance to build a relationship with someone that is deeper than you’ve ever grown roots before.
We all have thoughts like "when I get this, or when I achieve that or when this person likes me....THEN I'll be happy" When you think like this you are giving your power to be happy to the outside world. Your happiness will then always be determined by external factors.⠀
Learn to be happy within yourself first! 🙏💙⠀
This image reminds me of a lot of days lately that are dark but there is always a glimpse of light peeking through. ⭐️ I know from experience that light always follows darkness so trust and know that life brings us many different experiences to learn from and grow 🙏🏼

I used to hate Mondays, but now I have Mondays off...so I hate Tuesdays. Just kidding, I actually like every day of the week now. Here’s to today’s adventure through town on my day off! 👻 Sometimes, it’s worth it to leave the routine and join in on the “not knowing wtf you’re doing with life, but enjoying every second of it” bandwagon. Come on over my fellow lost souls, the world awaits!
I’m back! From the most amazing trip to New Zealand. This trip kept reminding me to trust and surrender. And it also made me appreciate everything in my life. Lately there has been so much magic and flow and opportunities…that when I stop to reflect and sit in gratitude I just cry. I can’t believe how much my life has changed in the last year. How much I have grown and how exciting things feel right now.
Tomorrow I’m co-hosting a Lunar Gratitude Ceremony with my friend @crystalsonicjourney to help you reflect on what you’re grateful for in life. This year’s full moon falls on Thanksgivings making it the perfect time to do that and also to manifest your wildest dreams. We will be breathing under the stars and then transitioning to a soothing soundbath.
Last month’s event was sold out, we have a few tickets left. DM me for the link.
Hope to see you tomorrow.
