Listening to some classic Oasis while sat in my car waiting to see my therapist.
Actually look forward to seeing her every other week. Feel like I have more to talk about. I sit there sometimes in each session looking at her and thinking “you have the easiest job in the world - all you do is sit here and listen to me for an hour each time...” 😂
I know there is so much more to her job than listening so please don’t take me seriously when say that!! The money I pay her is nothing. Her service is priceless . Talking to her for the last couple of years is worth it’s weight in gold. She played a vital role in saving my life. Literally! -
It took me years to find the right therapist for me. I have seen several others in the past and never had the right connection. You need to connect and trust the person sitting in the seat opposite you. Most of the time all you want is for someone to just listen to you and not judge you in any way. -
They say there are three key factors that contribute to you recovering / being able to maintain your mental illness.
I couldn’t be without any of the three now but therapy was definitely the real game changer for me. The other two are just as important, but being able to offload your shit from time to time is the priority for me personally.
Boundaries aren’t just for others. Sometimes you need boundaries for yourself too
Yesterday I touched on maximizing your minutes and really getting the most out of your day. Then I came home and rested and it occurred to me
Maximizing your minutes doesn’t mean never stopping or resting or enjoying the good things ✨
Carve out pockets of productivity. Time when you are committed to getting shit done but also allow yourself to carve out time for things like loved ones
Really map this out. What do these boundaries look like for you?
In my world I date a firefighter so he works several days at a time. I make it a point to go all out when he is gone so that when he is present I am present too- physically and mentally ✨
Try mapping out your ideal week and then reflect about how you can pair healthy boundaries and maximizing your minutes to make it happen

This. I’ve always been a type A “need to get everything done or I’m a failure “ kinda girl. It’s really kicked me in the butt. I’ve begun rushing through things to check it off the list. When your goal is completion you can’t focus on the process. Letting go of personal deadlines, for me, allows me to release resentment and guilt for not meeting a goal and instead focus on the beautiful process of well, L•I•F•E 🤟🏻
