Eight hissy little things arrived yesterday afternoon and they were not immediately happy to see us... You can see them all mean mugging us big time when we first opened their giant cardboard box! But we have a way with scared kittens at WCAL and they are coming around one by one. After just one day, they have made big progress and are now accepting pets, sleeping in their bed and using their litter box. Two have decided we are friends and they are ready for bath time and snuggles 🤗 All 8 are great eaters and in a few short weeks they will be purring machines who are big enough for spay & adoption!
These babies came from a new feral colony that popped up after the fires and luckily a nearby resident is rising to the challenge to male sure things don't spiral out of control. Now that the kiddos have been rounded up and are safe, the mommy & daddy cats will get their turn and be TNR'd by their caretaker. TNR stands for trap-neuter-return and it's a beautiful thing! The adult cats will no longer be contributing to the overpopulation problem and they have a safe place to live out their lives
