And we are headed out this morning! @stellashows @countrylivingmag Country Living Fair here we come. I made these adorable, petite wall art pieces yesterday. Earlier this week as I walked through the upstairs of the shop to dig out something stored up there, I saw a pile of old boards I hadn’t come up with a use for. And this idea popped into my head - so I did it! And I love the result. These are so tiny and fun and just perfect to tuck into a vignette or hang in a wall gallery display for a touch of fall. I only have about 25 of these so come@by@our booth and grab one quick! We are space D357 in the Market field - on a corner 😍😍
Good morning!! If you saw my stories late yesterday you know I made some HUGE sweater pumpkins! Oh my but did they turn out so cute and were so fun to create! I made two using the original size of my pouffe pattern and one that I cut the pattern size down slightly. That 3rd one is the perfect Cinderella pumpkin and a new pattern was born from it. The other two are more like regular pumpkins only huge and i details them up with some felt flowers and leaves. I made them to use in my central display at @stellashows Country Living Fair this weekend. @countrylivingmag
Check out my story for a peek at these fun, unique pumpkins before the story disappears!!
✨sit down ... and REST! ✨
... take your time and declutter your soul from what doesn't feel healthy...
was what i felt 20 days of anti-Lyme-desease antibiotics wanted to tell me. Today is the first day after. And yes! I feel liberated. Because it's over and because I feel better. But also, because it gave me the chance to question some things that had taken over my life... so, it is with relief (and some tears, oh yes!) that I need to tell those of you asking recently, that i will not be taking Bonnet custom orders, this season. We need to adapt our family rhythm to our elder one being a school boy and me being a part-time-architect and a mum ... and being a knitter night and day in addition (... which is what happens once you start taking custom orders...) just feels like the extra too much I want to let go off for some weeks... --------------------------------------------
I won't stop knitting and I will keep uploading knits to my little shop... so in case you like to, please feel free to tell me:
what you would wish to see in my shop? sizes? colours? Bonnets? Pixiehats? Cardi's? -------------------------------------------- Wishing you all a restfull and peaceful weekend! --------------------------------------------#slowdown#myautumn#slowliving#imwald#fortheloveoflinen#naturalfibres#thesincerestoryteller#embracingtheseasons#thebloomforum#endofsummer#myseptember#iminthepicture#methemaker#justme
Happy Friday! I managed to get a few pumpkins listed in the online shop! Go check it out and grab yours today - these will be available through the weekend then they will head to @stellashows Country Living Fair.
These pumpkins are larger than they appear in photos - I’ve had happy customers exclaim over how big they are 😊😊 sizing is in the shop listings.
They are also stuffed with a wonderful down alternative fill which makes them heavier and squishier than regular polyfil. Link to shop is in my profile so head on over now!! And have a wonderful weekend.
May not be a Father’s Day breaky but it sure was a delicious breakfast spread! Sneaky peak from a Content Creation shoot we are working on with @casagrande_resort 😍 Has anyone else tried @yoproau before?! It literally is the best yoghurt I’ve tried by far!
Well Michigan, I have to say - your weather is as crazy and ours in Ohio 😂😂😂😂
Thankful for a lovely day Friday. So VERY THANKFUL for the chats with @lizmariegalvan @adventuresinabbyland @tinbarnstudio @afmckinney6 and @lynnmichelledesign (joe please tell Lynn for me 😂😂)
And very thankful that I was able to pack up all my products quickly when the crazy rain arrived today.
I’ll admit it’s taken me over half the trip home to get to the point of listing what I’m thankful for. I’m running on fumes and tears are closer to the surface than I would like. I want to crawl in bed for a week. I’m seriously debating the wisdom of yet another outdoor event in the Midwest this fall. This year has been tough. So many times I’ve wanted to throw in the towel and call it quits. Usually some sleep and a bit of time to regroup and I’m ready to push on once more, so we shall see what tomorrow brings. No one ever said life was gonna be easy!! I hope your Labor Day weekend includes some fun my friends!!
Good morning friends. I’ve never been so thankful to see a Monday morning. The brakes went out on the truck last night on our way home from @charmatthefarm
Sitting here this morning I am realizing just how close we came to a really bad ending to the weekend and just how many angels were surrounding us and the people in the vehicles around us. It all happened so fast I didn’t even have time to be scared or even really comprehend what was happening. We ended up getting into a bank parking lot and called for AAA and my parents. My dads truck got the trailer home and the nicest towing company guy got me and the truck home. Praising God for all the things that went right in the midst of what we call wrong. Seriously. It could have been SO BAD. It almost was. But it wasn’t. And we made it home.
Now I’m working to figure out the logistics of keeping our plans for this coming weekend. We are supposed to be at @thefoundcottagemercantile - plan was to leave Thursday morning. Travis will be out of town for work on Tuesday and Wednesday. No way will the truck brakes be fixed in time. So - rent a truck or cancel the weekend plans???
Prayers appreciated as we make decisions and move forward. And prayers of praise that we are alive and well and no one got hurt. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I’ve admired the sweater pumpkins for several years now. I’ve even bought a few from various makers. But this is the first I’ve made them myself. I wasn’t thrilled with the idea because I knew it was going to take quite a bit of hand work which isn’t my fav. But I’ve made the sweater pumpkin pillows for a few years now and everyone loves them. So this year I decided I would give it a try and see how it went. I thought it would be fun to have some in my booth spaces and in the shop. I took my pouffe pattern and shrunk it, then altered it just a bit and voila! Pumpkins! I think it would be fun to make a couple from the full sized pouffe pattern for shop display! These are a bit labor intensive and I won’t be offering them online - I know I’m so sorry. So many of you have already asked as I started sharing them in my story. I just can’t keep up at this point. I have 3 fall shows and if anything is left after those I may offer them online but for now I can’t.
I really wanted to create a leather stem to go with the leather stems on the pumpkin pillows. I tried a few different things but didn’t come up with anything I loved. So I just had my hubby cut up some sticks from the back yard.
I stayed with all neutrals for my sweater pumpkins this year - it’s what sells best for me. About half of these pumpkins got blinged out with vintage lace and felt flowers. I’ll share those too - and you can check out my story to see them now. We are headed to @charmatthefarm to set up and you will find these pumpkins and lots of pillows there this weekend! Check out the Charm page for all the deets.
It’s time peeps! The air was rather crisp - almost chilly yesterday. I snuggled in under my blankets last night in bed. The fields are starting to turn a bit brown and yellow and I’ve even seen the first of the pumpkins show up here and there! School has started and its that time - Fall Time!
We packed the trailer last night and today I’m stuffing more pillows and doing the last minute prep work that every show takes. We head to @charmatthefarm for the weekend 🙂
I’m also doing a photo shoot today of all the sweater pumpkins I’ve made. I’ve been using old sweaters to make pumpkins on my pillows for a few years but this is the first I’ve ever made the actual pumpkins out of sweaters. They were so much fun. I wasn’t sure I was going to like making them - too much hand work involved - but it really was fun. I popped in a movie while I was doing all the hand work with needle and thread and stuffing them. Stay tuned - I’ve shared a couple pics in my story and more will be coming very soon!
Happy Friday! I’m scrambling to get all the orders filled and get all the things made for my upcoming shows. Next week I start packing up once again. We are headed to @charmatthefarm and the weekend after we are headed to @thefoundcottagemercantile
It’s all pumpkins and more pumpkins (and a few leaves thrown in too) around the shop. Next week as I’m stuffing all the pillows I hope to find some time to snap a few photos in the shop so I can share all the great stuff with you. Shop will be open again October 12.
I’ve spent several hours now, cutting and cutting and cutting! I hand cut all my fabric details for my pillows. Today I will be getting the canvas fabric cut and pressed and ready for the pumpkins to be stitched on. And I will start sewing up all the sweater pumpkins I’ve cut too. I shared a sneak peek of those on my stories - did you see it!?! I’ll share here too as soon as I get more made 🎃🎃 have a happy Thursday - weekends almost here😊
My sister asked for this design - and to celebrate her birthday last month she did a series of giveaways on her blog. The giveaway for this pillow is still running! Head over to @adelightfulglow and follow the link in her profile to enter to win one of your very own!
If you want to purchase a ‘give God the Glory’ pillow message me!
Thank you so much for all the love on yesterday’s post! Next week I will do a quick little giveaway of one of the clip boards!
I have thought all week that I would get a few pillows listed online - there are just a few lake themed pillows left from the weekend in Avon Lake and I wanted to offer them to my lake loving friends. The photos are taken and edited but I just haven’t had the time to get them listed! So look for those next week too - I’ll be sure to announce it once the listings are live.
I’ve been working on several orders that have looming deadlines and it’s just taken all my time this week. I can feel the season changing too - and the busyness of the second half of the year is moving in! I told my middle girl the other night that it ramps up from here on out till New Years. And she looked at me in shock and said ‘it’s been crazy all year, I thought maybe it would start slowing down!’ 😂😂 welcome to the world of a creative maker and her business my dear!! We are headed for fall and Christmas and it’s gonna be a wonderful crazy ride. 👏🏻👏🏻 starting the second weekend of October the shop opens every Friday - with some Saturday hours added as we head towards the holidays too!!
