Mig 21 M fighter jet at HAL Aerospace Museum.
The Mikoyan Gurevixh MiG-21 was designed during 1959 in the Soviet Union. They also nicknamed it "Balalaika" because of its resemblance with a Russian stringed instrument balalaika, where the polish called it Ołówek (Polish for pencil). India is the 3rd largest operator of the Mig-21s after Russia and China. In 1964, Mig-21 happens to be the first supersonic fighter jet to be flown by the Indian Air Force. The jet played a really crucial role in the Bangladesh Liberation War, 1971 India-Pakistan war, and the Kargil war. A visit to the HAL museum is incomplete without visiting this iconic piece of marvel.
