It's something I struggle with. With three precious cherubs it sure is hard to find. I know this is reality for most, if not all parents.
I always say there aren't enough hours in a day but then I thought to myself... if I was given an extra few hours would that even be enough? I honestly don't think so. I would probably just end up cramming more into my day.
A few weeks ago each day was rolling into the next and I felt so overwhelmed with life. It was then i realised i need to balance a few things out. Motherhood is a juggling act anyway right? I needed to do this to become a better version of myself and not just the robot I had become.
I started to take 20-30 minutes each day to myself. This meant doing absolutely nothing. No social media (no technology in general including no tv), no doing the washing, no cleaning, no nothing!
As soon as I would say it's rest time to my youngest (my other two would be at school), a million things would run through my head about what i need to get done in that 1-1.5 hours. I would then stress over getting her to rest just to get to my endless 'to do' list.
Instead I've taken the first 20-30 minutes for ME. It's amazing what just a small about of time to yourself can do . I feel so refreshed.... a better version of me.
I would love to challenge you to take 20-30 minutes out of your day to just be with yourself. Have a bath, lay outside on a blanket, anything just to be by yourself!
Today I enjoyed a hot coffee, yes it was hot not cold! Oh the things I use to take for granted before I had my babies.
To all the fantastic parents out there, don't just be there for your family, be there for yourself too.... and don't forget how amazing you are!
I was in the middle of working when he jumped in my lap asking for help with something silly. I almost got frustrated until I remember how much time we had just the two of us before the new baby was born. He has been so clingy to me and sometimes I forget why. So I took the afternoon for some "Mommy Ollie time as he calls it." Thankful for my little men first and foremost this season. #mommasboy#minime#mommyandme

How overwhelming is getting a flat tire in this very cold November weather??? It stirred up a conversation with my daughter. On the radio, some host was complaining about his take out food being cold and soggy once delivered to his house. I listened quietly without rolling my eyes. He was going on and on about it. The whole segment was about the disappointment one has when your food delivery gets home cold and or some other faulty food detail. It reminded me of a quote I heard many years ago: "I cried because I had no shoes, until I met someone who had no feet". I shared that quote with my 11 year old daughter and she got the message instantly. Her face lit up. So I tied up the worldly radio conversation on how meaningless receiving cold or damp food was in comparison to those who have no food with shoe quote. Same goes for my flat tire. Not enjoyable but could be so much worse. I have a beautiful vehicle. 💕every situation is an opportunity to learn, grow or teach. And there are always little angels willing to help! Thank you to this kind soul who came to the rescue! 🙏🏽✨#kindness#lifelessons#teachingchildren#teachyourkids#family#momlife#mom#mommy#mommyandme#goodsamaritan#kindpeople#whatreallymatters#growth#begrateful#grateful#gratitude#grace#november#itscold#selfie#lifequotes#momcoach#lifecoach
Thanksgiving fight #18: Cokes is still a bit constipated and a warm bath helps clears her out. She was miserable so Ty decided to give her a bath because she can just Netflix and chill while she poops in there. I rub her belly, pop her in, and then I wait for the magic to happen. Scoop it out and flush it down the toilet. In that order. Super easy amiright?! Unless you’re my husband. If you are putting your kiddo in the tub for the sole purpose of dropping a deuce you:
1. Remove all the F’n toys and loofas, because you know. Poop.
2. DO NOT PUT THEIR SIBLING IN THE TUB WITH THEM WHEN THEY ARE SPECIFICALLY THERE TO SHIT IN THE WATER.
3. Don’t start screaming for me because “HOLY SHIT it’s amazing! Syd you need to see this. Dude it’s a huge turd. Like an adult turd!” 4. Realize what you’ve done and panic while both kids swim in Cora’s poo. Start dry heaving while you attempt to fish the turds out of the toys and bank on the fact that your wife will probably clean the shit show and toddlers off. Wrong.
5. Remember your wife is always one step ahead of you. Cue me snapping a picture and then lying about hearing the baby crying downstairs. Not my circus. I woke Penny up to cover my tracks once I finally heard them coming down cause #fuckallthat 😂
