Three Fathers Memorial Run, 10k. On June 4th, 2014, three of Moncton's finest were gunned down in the line of duty and their lives were cut tragically short. These men were someone's son, brother, husband, friend and father and an entire community mourns their loss. It was my absolute privilege to attend this run on Father's Day and play a small part in honoring their memory. Not only was the tribute incredibly moving but the interaction between runners and local law enforcement was a truly wonderful thing to witness and experience. Put this race on your "must do list" if it already isn't. Photo credit 📸 @katehawkinsphotography
Taken on June 4, 2018 - 4 yrs after the terrible tragedy that paralyzed our city in fear for over 24 hrs. My friend and I found it fitting to go for a walk along the #waterfront and to eventually wind up in front of the #monument to pay a visit to the boys. A lone piper was playing in the distance...its melancholy drone the perfect soundtrack for this day. Gone too soon. 😢 #fallenheroes#officers#policemonument @rcmpgrcpolice The artist behind this beautiful memorial is @macdonaldmorgan and he did #Moncton proud! #MonctonStrong#neverforgotten

You could hear the shattering of hearts throughout the city, the sorrow hung thick in the air like fog. Through it all, you felt love, the coming together of a city to support the families of the fallen heroes and one another. Everyone hugging their loved ones tighter. Embracing hope.
Tonight, 4 years later, I feel it. All of it, the fear, the grief, the love. Forever marked in the cells of my body. Grief does that. It makes marks on your soul. Never forgotten.
May all those impacted by this tragedy cling to love. May love reign over this day.
On this day we remember the sacrifice of Cst. David Ross, of Victoriaville Quebec; Cst. Fabrice Georges Gevaudan of Boulogne-Billancourt, France; and Cst. Douglas James Larche of Saint John, New Brunswick, who were taken from us much too soon in Moncton, NB 4 years ago today. #rcmp#police#thankyouforyourservice#monctonstrong#Codiac
We raise our flag high and proudly in honour of all our fallen heroes who have served at home and abroad with a dedication to keep us safe. Your sacrifices will never be forgotten. Your work never be done. Together, we will carry on the legacy. In memory of those who lost their lives years ago in Moncton, NB. A day that changed our city forever. #wewillneverforget
