Rosso Sicilia!! Woww! This is an awesome wine, coming from the Mount Etna region of Sicily. Pardon the snow, as I’m sure this is the wines first time being in it 😉lol. It’s in NJ now and not Sicily! This wine is made by the great producer Andrea Franchetti. During 09’ & 10’ the Mount Etna wine region had two lighter years. Producing fine elegant wines. But in 2011 they had a great vintage! This was due to the late rains and longer season. Which helped the growers to pick grapes that were able to bring extraordinary rich wines that year.
The picture does not do the color of the wine justice, this wine once poured into the glass is bright red and starting to turn into a red brick color. Due to aging. The glass is filled with intense, gorgeous, aromas of cherries and raspberry jam. Once drank the wine is sophisticated, elegantly smooth, has floral cherry and red berry fruits, wild strawberry, anise, tobacco, and bright acidity, but balanced, with a sappy/chewy character. Good tannins and intensity, juicy, some floral notes, along with mineralogy and a hint of spice. Long lingering on the refined and elegant finish. #Salute 🍷
