The Shining is polarising for most people who watch it. It’s a ‘love it or hate it’ kinda film. I’m more on the ‘hate it’ side, however I totally get why it’s a classic, the set is beautiful and clearly every little prop was meticulously chosen to create a naturalistic pastel aesthetic. The overall plot is intricate and layered and I can easily see myself coming back and watching it over and over again. Jack Nicholson is excellent, the screenplay even more so, and I recommend anyone reading this to see it. What really gets to me is the behind the scenes treatment of Shelly Duvall. Kubrick proudly says he tormented her and encouraged the cast/crew to ostracise her to improve her performance. Now; for one, it didn’t even work, her performance is regularly referred to as one of the worst ever, and secondly; it’s dangerously pretentious. So many actresses could and have given outstanding performances without literally being psychologically tortured. As someone working in the industry the thought of this happening on set is gross, and I can’t see past it now when I watch The Shining. ————————————
Every Which Way But Loose (1978)
Directed by James Fargo
Starring Clint Eastwood, Sondra Locke, Geoffrey Lewis *
“You’re gonna meet a lady now so no hissing, spitting, farting or picking your ass” Teaming up with an orangutan, Eastwood had one of his biggest box office hits but any which way you look at it, it’s not a career highlight. Still, Eastwood was in great shape as trucker/brawler, Philo Beddoe, Sondra Locke sings a duet with Phil Everly, Ruth Gordon swears as Ma, and Eddie Rabbitt had a memorable hit title song
47 Meters Down: 2.5 out of 5 stars.
47 Meters Down is your typical trapped suspense... really not much to say about it, they try to develop characters, but all in all the mediocre dialogue really just takes away from any feeling the viewer will for the characters, still worth watching on a rainy day.
Here’s our first Telugu movie review of Geetha Govindam! 🇮🇳 ******************************************************Positives:
1️⃣ Vijay Devarakonda and Rashmika Mandanna were perfect for the characters presented in the movie and their acting kept the movie fresh
2️⃣ The movie was very funny and the comedy was used in a proper way where it went along with the story
3️⃣ The songs were placed in a natural way where they didn’t disrupt the flow of the story and also fit with the romantic and melodious tone of the movie.
1️⃣ The movie is slow at parts due to the whole story being based on one plot point that takes place in the beginning of the film.
Special shoutout to actors Subbaraju and Vennela Kishore 😜🤗 ******************************************************Potatoes: 4🥔 / 5🥔
969. INFO FILM

The Lovely Bones (2009) PG-13 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rating: 8.8/10⚰️ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Genre: drama/thriller ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I cry every time I watch this movie it is so sad. I kept on hearing about how good it was but never realized what I was missing till I watched it. The movie starts off so happy and relatable and then suddenly takes a turn for the worse. You really begin to feel for the family and the people around the town and feel like you are losing someone yourself. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 14 year old Susie Salmons life is just getting started when she is unexpectedly murdered. This movie is about her disappearance and her father trying to figure out who did it. You get to see Susie from the other side where she is stuck trying to hold onto the past. Her family goes through an extremely hard time and the fathers obsession with finding the murderer ends up driving the family apart. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 👍🏽-one of the saddest movies I’ve seen but in a good way 👎🏽-I hate crying while watching movies tho so that’s not that good ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ #moviereview#thelovelybones

Eyes of Fire (1983)
Directed by Avery Crounse
You know those movies in high school your diabetic teacher would put on for the class so she didn’t have to stand up. The really slow burns that wouldn’t really pick up until the last ¾th of the movie? That’s “Eyes of Fire” in a nutshell.
2 movies about a witches this week and this one is the HIGHLY more entertaining of the two. And you can tell a lot of heart and thought went into this, just hearts and thoughts of people with Alzheimer’s.
The film stars Billy Corgan as a horney hot topic priest. Discount Jeff Bridges as David Copperfield (the only likeable character). His cheating wife. Aunt May from Spiderman. Ygritte from game of thrones as a witch (Spoilers). And blackface demon children.
On a note, the use of term “Indians’ throughout can be seen as highly offensive - it’s 2018 check your privilege before you release a movie like this.. Avery!
On that, the plot suffers around a horney priest and his child witch sidekick (Not related) tricking everyone in a small village to follow him to the promise land and once they get there they realize it’s not what they wanted so the blame the natives only to find out the natives are really tree/mud/demon people and there is no real resolution.
The acting from the leads is alright but accents disappear in conversations.
The music is generic and will put you to sleep.
It’s shot very bland with no real color or any real interesting shots until you finally see the demons then it’s like “The Crucible” on acid or if “The VVITCH” was worse.
It feels like it goes on way longer than it really is but the ending is worth staying for… It’s entertaining, bad, and just shy of being a cult classic.
Final Rating: Watch at your own risk.

The Book Thief; one of my fav book because I loved the narration of it, andd movie, because of Liesel's accent, nah jk 😂becausee it literallyy fckd my emotions and oh well I love for that 🤷🏻♀️ Y'all should really check this actual roller coaster of emotions out.
Okay my turn.
Dead & Rotting (2002)
Full Moon Features
Directed By David P. Barton
I hate saying that I can probably do better than the filmmakers on their own project but Jesus Christ I find vines and mouth surgery videos more entertaining. “Dead & Rotting” is a straight to shitdeo release by Full Moon features. The same people behind “Ginger Dead Man”, “Evil Bong”, and my personal favorites the “Puppet Master” series.
This masterpiece of cinema stars a discount Chris Evans, Mathew Lillard’s abortion with Steve Buscemi and Richard Karn, Jesse Pinkman and “Insert Actress Name Here” as some excuse to have a naked woman in the film.
The plot consists of … witches are bitches and don’t kill the cat. (Spoilers)
The sound editing and visuals are grotesque and one step above using a razor flip phone as your serviceable camera.
The acting is better than your average middle school play but worse than your drunk roommate toasting to you at what he thinks is your wedding but is really your mothers funeral.
Some of the effects are decent but no further than Party City quality.
And I enjoyed the hell out of it.
But after a few drinks and after the credits rolled.
Final Rating: Leave that shit in the box “BITCH”

The review that started it. A lot of months ago, after I wrote this review my friend came to me with the idea of making more than just the one review. And 507 followers later I'm so happy he did. This account has became a passion of mine because im able to share my deeper thoughts on movies which is something that most people my age dont usally like to do. At the begining of the summer me and Q had a goal of 300 followers by the end of the summer, we deffinetly exceeded that goal.
So, thank you to all of the supporters and followers of the account( @quinkar.reviews ). Quinton (@thelast_olewine ) and I greatly appreciate it.
Btw, if you dont follow us please go follow us.
HOTTAKE: An absolute delight! It’s rom-com meets Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.
NON-SPOILER THOUGHTS: The characters are well-developed and interesting across the board. Lots of laughs, tender moments, and eye candy (sets, scenery, people all included). Astrid (Gemma Chan) is stunning! She’s like if Audrey Hepburn, Gong Li, and Jennifer Lawrence had a gorgeous baby. Her storyline packs a wallop that you wouldn’t expect from a secondary plot thread.
Peik Lin (Awkwafina) punches up the BFF role with edgy one-liners and an hilarious family in tow.
Singapore becomes a character all its own providing a lush backdrop for this fish-out-of-water/Pride and Prejudice flick. The sets make a trip to the theater for a rom-com worthwhile.
Love it. Can’t wait for the sequels.
🚨Slender Man🚨is another film from Sony! The scariest part of the movie was when I saw the Sony logo. Watch as Hollywood takes inspiration from a real tragic event and turns it into a cash grab! The film centers around four stereotypical white teenagers as they watch an "internet video" that summons a interdemensional, electro, faceless, space demon. They have to not die, I guess. Runtime 90 minutes.
So if you live anywhere in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area, you will notice that you are unable to view this film due to what recently happened with the "Slender Man Stabbings." So Hollywood took the popularity of Slender Man and made a film that is five years past its prime, then got cold feet because people were upset about the making of the movie, so Sony cut out 50% of the film, took out all the scary stuff, and then released half of a film that makes no sense into theaters with little to no advertisement. SONY!
It is difficult to even call this a film because of how much was cut out. Due to that, the film feels uncohesive with no real narrative thrust, and nothing but people walking around and getting scared. Then immediately hard cut to something else. So right off the bat, this film has terrible dialogue, probably because it was written by a sixty year old man who is responsible for writing teenage dialogue.
Sample of actual dialogue: "The internet video of Slender Man just spreads like a virus in a hard drive, only the hard drive is your brain." So the film is nothing but characters on their phones and computers. One scene actually has Slender Man face-timing one of the girls which was hilarious. Characters also randomly disappear in the film which I will credit to the major cuts out of the film. But this movie can mostly be described as boring with flares of decent, creepy imagery.
The main issue with the film, especially in a horror film, is that it the "monster" needs rules and guidelines to abide by. In this Slender Man just turns into a tree for no reason.
Anyway, the film just ends and you feel terrible and sad after leaving the theater. Chances are, you can't see it anyways, so don't go out of your way.
