It’s hard to believe that my 2nd annual @mud_hero obstacle race was already 2 months ago! This picture reminds me of how strong and beautiful I felt that day.
I have been struggling this week, after working so hard to only be “grounded” again by physio because of my rotator cuff tear and impingement. I’ve been internalizing my fear of failure for my half marathon next year and focusing on what I can’t do instead of what I have worked hard to accomplish.
So, today, I look back and remind myself just how S•T•R•O•N•G and C•A•P•A•B•L•E I am.
I smash and eat roadblocks for breakfast 🤣.
A big shoutout to the all inspiring group of people following and encouraging me daily (especially you #BALG’ers).
My nutrition program allows for #pancakes even if you forget about breakfast until 11am😂😂. It was a busy morning reponding to emails about my one on one support group entirely dedicated to our #nutrition!!😍😍.
Do you struggle with finding the right foods to keep you stratified but also to fuel your body? Or maybe your left binge eating thanks to #emotionaleating?.
Where ever your struggles lie we will work one on one to find the best solution for you so you can and will have a healthy weight loss transformation!!
After the #mudrun I donated my old sneakers to be cleaned up and sent to people who need shoes in Haiti. @sportchek gave me a $25 gift card towards new shoes and I decided to get a couple pairs! It was a little sad to part with the old ones because they were the shoes I bought when I started on my fitness journey about 5 years ago! They were the only real running shoes I’ve ever owned! I’m excited to break in my new ones in the gym and on the trails though ☺️ #outwiththeoldinwiththenew#underarmour#newkicks#trailrunning#ocrtraining
A few weeks ago I did something that in my past I would have had trouble over coming without being coached and hand held. 🤦🏼♀️ I have done #mudhero a few times before and it was a struggle to get me over some of the obstacles. #tbt THIS YEAR I OVERCAME MY FEARS!!! I climbed what needed to be climbed and I went down the slide like a champ ☺️ this was the largest group I w gone with and the most encouraging by far! Despite it raining all day it was definitely a day I will remember as a positive one! #pushyourlimits#stayfocused#mudhero2018 🙃
Had some amazing fitness firsts the past month but was so busy experiencing and enjoying every moment I forgot to share. 😬 Mud Hero 2018 was a blast!! 2nd for me but 1st for our team, the Mud Sirens. T-shirts made by my girl @eringrbavac ❤️ and cut ✂️ up by yours truly the morning of the run. Lol. Then I went rock climbing for the very first time! Now for someone who has a hard time building progressive upper body strength ...and is afraid of her own shadow... I'm pretty darn proud of myself. September long brought on some batting cages and an evening hike of Knox Mountain in Kelowna. Darn smoke messed with the lung function a bit but onward and up!! Simply beautiful and we didn't get eaten by a cougar on the way down in the dark. 😱 The next day was a hike up lots of stairs to see a beautiful waterfall and then 4 hours kayaking for the first time on Kalamaka Lake. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. If you made it this far... Next time I'll buy you dinner before I tell you my life story. 😂 #fitnessforlife#fitnessfirsts#mudhero2018#mudsirens#fitnessmonth#comebacksummer#fitness#hike#kelowna#fun#fitnessjourney#progressisprogress#comfortablyuncomfortable
Despite losing a shoe early on I was still able to snag 1st place in my category and 3rd overall at Mud Hero Ultra this year with a time 51:12.9. With this win I will be able to qualify for the North American Obstacle Course Championships. Thank you to @jlwheaton and @3dogdays1 for coming out with me and @jamie.macfarlane95 for training me to kick ass.
