Spot reduction ie training a specific body part (Butt, Legs, Abs) in the hopes that bodyfat will come off of that area is a myth. It is NOT possible to choose where bodyfat will come off of, this is another genetic disposition and we cannot change. There are several ways to reduce body fat but training one specific location to reduce body fat in that area is not one of them.
There is a take away from this point or some caveats if you will. Building lean tissue IS site specific and will respond directly to training. Want to build more athletic legs? Train legs. Build bigger and more muscular arms? Train arms. The muscle building is site specific and will respond to direct stimulus.
