Some days I wake up and it’s hard to do this and I think to myself, is it worth it? Even though it becomes tough sometimes I don’t stop. I persist because this is my passion and I chose to serve my life to my community, state, and nation. I was born into a blessed life and giving to those who aren’t as fortune is what motivates me to keep doing this. Their smiles and the impact I make on others is the best reward I could ever ask for 💕
Walker Lake, on U.S. Highway 95 just outside Hawthorne, NV. This is a beautiful stretch of the U.S. undisturbed by people, places to see or things to do. When you get closer to Hawthorne, you can see ammunition bunkers, and because I grew up in a military family, I find that stuff really cool. Fun fact: A newspaper ad in 1955 told kids they could call Santa and listed a number. That number was for the US Air Defense Command. The Colonel on duty told them to give the kids Santa’s “current location.” And that tradition is still carried out to this very day.
