When you have your portraits taken in a vineyard that you helped create from the ground up, photographs are more meaningful. And you're darn straight if we spend an ample amount of time in there. Wouldn't you?
As I still plan on doing some editing today (hoping to finish some session galleries today!) I am planning on snuggling up with the hubby and nugget as well. I’ve always struggled with the home and work life balance and my priority is to make sure they don’t feel neglected during wedding season. Sometimes I fail at it but I am blessed with a forgiving husband. 🖤🖤🖤
All of my vw dreams were fulfilled Saturday with the help of Erin + Jason at their wedding.
My grandfather restored a bug just like this while I was growing up and I actually learned to drive stick on one just like this!
Did you know that Letterpress, one of the most beautiful and stunning printing techniques, actually started as a mistake?
In the first era of printing, individual metal letters of various fonts and sizes had to be very carefully aligned and spaced in order to reproduce many copies of a page.
Each letter, when coated in ink, was pressed gently against the page to leave the lasting print.
If the machine wasn’t calibrated correctly or too much pressure was applied, then the letters would be pressed into the page, causing a deep indentation. Back then, this was seen as a terrible mistake!
Nowadays though, we’ve refined the technique – instead of individual letters and spacers, we can use digital designs. From those we can create a photopolymer plate to use in the pressing process. We can also combine multiple plates to create more complex and/or multi-colored impressions.
The machines are set now to produce a consistent pressure, leading to crystal-clear impressions in luxuriously thick card-stock.
What once started as a mistake, has turned into something of beauty.
It’s a story we’re super proud to be part of, and something that we love to share with you.
