Day 5 - Calistoga/Napa 🍷 Last day in wine country and we made it count. We started early eager to hit all of the wineries I'd mapped out. Unfortunately, I didn't make reservations at them so we could only hit a few but it was SO nice not to have pressure to make an appointment. We started with Odette and the aesthetic was very me. Minimal, bright whites, and cool hardware. Their sommelier led us through our tasting and I had THE best Savignon Blanc of my entire life (2017 Cade). I want a case of just that. I think I actually smiled while drinking it. My birthday is next month if anyone is feeling generous 😘 Next we made our way to Silverado which is owned by the Disney family. That porch is incredible. The somm from Odette recommended Charter Oak for lunch and it didn't disappoint. We sat at the bar and chatted up the bartender who grew up in Napa (crazy) and enjoyed a great lunch. Their bread and butter though is what stood out. It was out of this world. Refreshed from lunch we made our way to what was going to be our favorite tour of the trip, Cakebread Cellars. Chelsea was an incredible guide. In wine country it can be easy to feel a little uneducated and to be honest judgey but she fielded all of our questions and was incredibly knowledgeable. At the end of the day we stopped at T-Vine which was walking distance from our hotel and had a relaxing tasting with their staff. MJ even learned a party trick. We didn't want a huge dinner so we walked from our hotel to Sam's Social Club and grabbed apps to share and while chugging water. We were officially OVER wine. On our walk home we found this cute labrynth and note tree? and grabbed beer and jalapeno cheetos at the convenience store. I'm pretty sure we were asleep by 10 pm.
