I know this page is called vegan eats but I also make sure my skincare/makeup is vegan too! It’s taken me quite awhile to find a completely cruelty free and vegan skincare routine that suits my skin as I have dry combination skin but I’m also super acne prone 🙈 These 4 products are working so well at the moment that I have the best skin i’ve had in years. How do you guys feel about me talking about things other than food? And does anyone want to know about each product in detail? #vegan#veganfortheanimals#veganlondon#veganskincare#glossier#paulaschoice#scienceofskin#firstaidbeauty
Some recent empties: ❄️ Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Pore Reducing Toner - feels nice but I can’t say I saw any benefits. It did nothing for my pores and didn’t help with hydration. I’d give it a 4/10 and wouldn’t repurchase. ❄️ L’Oréal Ever Creme Deep Nourish Conditioner - I feel like the only positive about this conditioner is that it’s sulfate free. The bottle was WEIRD and hard to squeeze and drive me nuts. The smell was a bit meh, and it didn’t do anything for my hair. 1/10. ❄️ L’Oréal Ever Fresh anti dandruff shampoo. This stuff is pretty great. It’s the only sulfate free dandruff shampoo I’ve found that doesn’t have Salicylic Acid in it (allergic). HOWEVER - the smell is very strong imo (I have chronic migraines and smells are a trigger), and smells like a mans cologne. I’m on the fence about whether I will repurchase. 7/10. ❄️ Hello sensitive toothpaste. Love this stuff! Already repurchased. No complaints beyond it being difficult to find! - 9/10. ❄️ Babo Botanicals Daily Sheer Sunscreen - this was just too thick, and I felt like it just sat on my skin driving me nuts. It was hard to blend in and gave me a bit of a white cast. Wouldn’t repurchase. 2/10.
BRAND: Paula’s Choice
PRODUCT: 10% Niacinamide Booster
💸 : €47,00
🌼 About the product 🌼 :
This booster serum is concentrated with 10% niacinamide. Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3, which (research has proven) can reduce the appearance of enlarged pores and uneven skintone. Adding niacinamide to your skincare routine will improve skin texture and smooth out fine lines!
My review 🙋🏼♀️ :
It’s a watery consistency, and I find it difficult to apply without wasting the product. It feels sticky on my skin as it doesn't seem to fully absorb so I only use it at night. The niacinamide booster contains antioxidants and soothing ingredients to promote visibly calm skin. The product does what it promises, but I still won’t repurchase. I will however be looking for an alternative as I do like what niacinamide does for my skin.
➕improves uneven skin tone and refines pores, skin texture and fine lines.
➕niacinamide has benefits for all skintypes
➖ I don’t like the consistency, liquid is easily spillabe
➖Sticky texture that supposed to be light on skin
Verdict 👩🏼⚖️ :
Even though there aren’t so many products that contain 10% niacinamide on the market, I’m not sure if this one is a must have in your cabinet. I definitely did see improvement in my complexion after a few uses: Noticeable more even skin tone and smaller pores. But the watery liquid texture that’s supposed to be light on skin, feels sticky. Because of that, I don’t find it easy to layer with other products. I am going to stick with my B6-niacinamide supplement for now, to achieve the same benefits from inside out. ⭐️
👯♀️8-week L-Ascorbic Acid Comparison Results👯♀️
But first...some Important Context (sorry, I can't NOT give caveats😬🤷♀️)
➖When I started this comparison I had already been consistently using L-Ascorbic acid serums for months. So I was really at a maintenance stage in terms of my pigmentation. I was using Paula's Choice for 3 months prior to this (which was gifted but I have also purchased 3 bottles in the past), & then before that I was using #Maelove Glow Maker, & before that I was comparing #Skinceuticals CE Ferulic with Timeless (reviews are all up on my blog).
🔅Both the @drunkelephant and #paulaschoice products were gifted with no expectations for review🔅
➖Vit C does more than just fade pigmentation but that is the easiest thing to look for in before and after photos (hence why I've posted some 📸). But there are more effects (like AOX protection and reducing collagen degradation that you can't see in photos.
🔅Everyone's skin is different and YMMV!🔅
📊Bottom line: I really like both of these products and I think they both performed equally well! Below are some other thoughts.
⚖️Pros for @paulaschoice Choice
PC has a better price per ounce(this is a major factor for me since I would need to replace it every 3 months), it is available at more retailers that have frequent sales (like at paulaschoice.com, @dermstore, and @skinstore), and it has a texture that I prefer.
⚖️Pros for Drunk Elephant
I love the Drunk Elephant twist-top airless pump and I like that it has additional brightening ingredients and gentle enzyme exfoliants (however, in 8 weeks I don't think I've seen any additional brightening compared to PC side).
➖With DE you get more, but if you use it every day it (like I do) it will last about the same amount of time as PC. If you plan to use it a bit more infrequently, the DE could potentially last you 6 months. So for people that use Vit C infrequently, DE would be the better option (aiming to buy it during #Sephorasale when possible).
This product deserves all the dancing gifs. Have you tried this yet? This product didn’t work (for me) until I started using it at night. I compare it to the super popular (and expensive) Drunk Elephant baby facial. This is a fraction of the cost and sensitive skin approved. My skin glows now and my fine lines are a tad less. (I can do a post specifically about fine lines, there’s not a lot of topicals that can completely erase those. Those that say they can are marketing scams.) My issue is pores and this REALLY helps. I can’t recommend it enough. $29.95 for the full size or $9 to try the travel size. The Paula’s choice line is always free shipping. I hope this helps!!! #ladieshelpingladies#sensitiveskincare#sensitiveskin#paulaschoice#bha#actives#routine#over35
