Burratta Mandarin Shallot and Watercress Salad. Think savory “Creamsicle”...mmmmm...
Yup, I thought this one was nuts too, but after last night’s shrimp dish, I decided that I wanted to try the most wack-a-doodle dish in @alisoneroman’s “Dining In” that I could find. This recipe from pg. 95 called for tangerines...I had mandarins...and the flavors worked beautifully with a very ripe burratta. “Two Thumbs Up! On this one...going to try another dish from her book tomorrow.
The best thing about this recipe book is it’s simplicity, Alison promises not to use two pots when you only need one, and the ingredients are not hard to find (get the best that you can; old onions and herbs don’t make yummy food). Best of all, my wife is digging into it as I type this...While she is the biggest bookworm I know, she is rarely interested in cookbooks. I need to put @ciaosamin’s “Salt Fat Acid Heat” next to Dining In for her.
