Good morning diary!
It has been quite some time since I have went and got my body fat tested, so yesterday I decided to go see where I am currently. Knowing the last time I got it tested I was at 12.6% I was quite honestly afraid it either hasn't changed or went higher, but to my surprise and relief lol, it went down to 12.2... obviously not a huge change, but better than it was and what I was expecting, so I was very happy with it. I am now going to use this as a new starting point for myself, and let it motivate me a little to not go on a full out diet, but help me be less careless.
I am hoping with this little bit of motivation, I can get back down to 10-11 percent and maintain that for a while. My plan is to continue eating clean, healthy and nutrient dense whole foods and still have my free meals from time to time. I just would like to have a little more control over not just what I am eating but HOW MUCH I am eating. For the next month or so, I will retest my percentage every two weeks to regulate my progress and assess my strategies moving forward!
I figured with all this information, I would also share a physique update and share some other things, such as my current weight which is 181-183 lbs. This is actually crazy to me because this used to be a weight I would work so hard to achieve during my off seasons, but now it is my maintenance. I will be completely honest, I am not sure exactly what my total caloric intake is right now, but if I had to guess, it would right around 3000 calories. I know just by tracking my macros more accurately, I have a better chance of reaching my goal!
Again, I am not going on a cut or any sort of "diet" by any means... I am not making any drastic changes. I just want to have a little more structure and control over my diet, so I can get back to a more comfortable body composition. This includes tracking my macros more consistently and controlling the amounts of food I am eating. By testing my BF and sharing my progress in my diary, I am hoping it will motivate me to stay accountable and in control if my habits! So for the past 7 weeks I’ve been bulking, my first ever bulk and it’s safe to say I’m loving it! 🔥🔥
The picture on the right was when I started the bulk on July the 3rd and weighed 166.5 lb (75.5kg).
The picture on the left is 7 weeks later August the 15th and weighing 173.5 lb (78.6kg) so that’s a total of 7lb (3.1kg) gained which is about 1lb a week which is exactly what I was aiming for! 🔥🔥 So far really happy with my bulk and how I’m gaining not putting to much fat on either which is perfect as I’m trying to lean bulk! Yesterday morning, for the first time in a loooooong time, I looked in the mirror and felt good about my current bod. Instead of instantly picking myself apart, I noticed that my quads looked strong af. It is so so easy to get sucked into a world of comparison, especially during this day in age where we broadcast everything and anything on instagram. I’m takin’ these good feelings and rollllllin’ with it 🤷🏼♀️

———————————————————————————Genre de post que je ne fais jamais mais je trouvais intéressant de le faire en ce moment où : Je ne fais pas trop attention à ce que je mange, où je ne m’entraîne pas beaucoup également. Oui c’est l’été mais c’est pas pour ça que j’vais faire une vieille sèche/diète alimentaire pour faire 3 photos où j’me roule dans le sable 🤫. Bref tout ça pour dire que votre corps ne va pas changer radicalement en une semaine ni même un mois. Tout vos efforts que vous avez fait pendant des mois et des années ne s’estompent pas aussi vite. Si vous n’avez pas d’objectifs PRÉCIS ni quoi que ce soit, écoutez surtout votre corps. Mais enfait, écoutez le tout le temps. Il est le seul à pouvoir vous aiguiller vers votre propre réussite. E étant régulier toute l’année sur vos repas et vos entraînements, ce n’est pas en sautant des workout ou en mangeant un peu trop de 🍱🍘 que tout va disparaître. HELLLLO! It seems like forever since I’ve done a life update so here you go!
I’m probably at the busiest point of my life (so far...) where I’m try to balance a full-time Dietetics master degree (which involves a full-day uni workshop + 3 days of hospital placement) + ~30 hours of personal training work per week + training 6 days per week + an amazing relationship 😌 + good nutrition + study + sleep 💭 Some days can be exhausting, especially those that involve uni + working out + closing the gym until 11:15pm, followed by a wake up at 5:30am the next morning to go to the hospital, then catching the bus back to the gym at ~4:30pm, smashing another workout, going home, eating and sleeping, and then waking up the next morning to do it all again haha 🙄
Don’t get me wrong, the purpose of this post definitely isn’t to complain, actually quite the opposite 😌
I CHOOSE to do this. There’s absolutely no one out there forcing me to get an education, work the hours I do, go to the gym, food prep, study... it’s all MY choice! The truth is I simply want to excel in so many different areas of life - I’m always working toward building a happy and successful future for myself, and I’ve simply acknowledged that if I truly want to reach my full potential one day then I need to put in the work NOW. And to be honest I LOVE working hard. Sure it can be exhausting.... but I feel so much more accomplished collapsing in bed each night knowing that I achieved something that day... something that will get me one step closer to achieving my goals ✨
I want to be a highly reputable, well educated and successful sports dietitian. I want to be an incredible physique coach. I want to be a professional bikini athlete. I want to live a beautiful life with @jack.radfordsmith 💙 But the truth is that “wants” don’t just happen, you need to dedicate the time and the work to make wants come alive ✨ And that’s exactly what I’m aiming to do... one day at a time 💫
