So blessed to have performed inside the majestic @SeattleCentralLibrary designed by the incomparable Rem Koolhaas. 🙏🏙#Seattle is one of my favorite places to play because the people are as eager to learn as they are to listen. I highly recommend visiting in the summer when the weather is breathtaking🎵🎼🎹

I just shamelessly chose vanity over my craft - and I don't even look that good!😂 I have another take that has so much more nuance, but I had dismantled the ponytail to reveal the WORST bed hair ever! I'm so disappointed in myself that if enough of you care, I'll post the other one (please don't care!). Perhaps the difference is discernable only to me (the music, not the hair!😂)
So here's Rachmaninoff's take on the Prelude from Bach's Violin Partita in E Major. I like it! It has a completely different character to the van Katwijk that we heard last time. Most notably, it's specifically marked NON Allegro🙌🏻 It has a very humourous sort of loafing-about quality. You can hear even in the beginning some of the interesting harmonic language he explores later on. This has definitely made my ever-growing list of pieces to learn when I find the time...🎹🧡
This reminds me of some National Geographic sh*t; “we have searched ‘hi-lo’ and found the wild @amylee in her natural habitat, for up to this point we thought she was ‘imaginary.’ 😮😭🤷♂️😂. Happy Monday folks!
