I have been so eager to perfect my chickpea pizza base recipe so I could share it with all you pizza lovers! 🍕🍕🍕 This recipe has been a hit with a few friends and family, so hopefully you will enjoy it just as much 🤗
INGREDIENTS: 🍕1/2 cup chickpea flour (Small) 🍕3/4 cup chickpea flour (Medium) 🍕1 cup chickpea flour (Large) (Got my Chickpea flour from Manolis Munchies) 🍕Equal parts of water to chickpea flour
🍕Spices of your choice; I used 🍕1 tsp dried oregano 🍕1/2 tsp onion powder from @faithfultonature
🍕1/2 tsp garlic powder from @faithfultonature
🍕Salt and pepper to taste
METHOD: ➡️ Place a non stick frying pan or griddle pan (27 - 30cm wide) into the oven and preheat to 220°C. ➡️ While the oven is preheating, combine all the base ingredients in a bowl and mix well and set aside. ➡️ Start preparing your choice of toppings for the pizza. ➡️ I made my own tomatoe base and then topped my pizza with mushrooms, red onion, left over quinoa, nutritional yeast flakes and fresh basil. ➡️Once the oven is ready, carefully remove the pan and place it ontop of a heat proof surface. ➡️ Add 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and coat the pan evenly.
➡️ Pour in the chickpea base mixture immediately and place it back in the oven and bake for; ➡️15 mins (small)
➡️20 minutes (medium)
➡️30 minutes ( large) ➡️ Once the time is up, the base should be firm with golden brown and crispy edges. ➡️ Place on a serving plate, add your tomatoe base and finally your toppings.
