since the weather was really nice today, we decided to eat out like literally 😅 I made stir fried tofu and broccoli with red curry paste and we went to the park to have our dinner there. It’s so nice that we live so close to the park 🙂
I think it’s safe to say that veggie sushi is my favorite meal 😋 .
You can find this amazing sushi in Newark, close to the airport. All of the vegan options on the menu are labeled! Pair it with some edamame and vegetable gyoza for a very fulfilling vegan meal 😎
Lets sit down, have a casual mermaid matcha and talk about contraception as a ‘vegan’...
I am a little, no, a lot SHOOK (lol as if I ever say that in real life but I feel it is appropriate) that I only just found out that the contraceptive pill is not vegan. Maybe this is not news to many but seriously I have just never even thought about it. Now I have, I feel pretty stupid 🤦🏻♀️. I haven’t researched too much further because there are so many brands of pill etc but what I do now know is that if a pill doesn’t contain animal product, it was probably tested on animals at some point in the process.
So what does a girl trying to be a good vegan do in this situation now that I can’t plead ignorance. I have used the pill for 12 years and whenever I have come off it my hormones have gone wild. I selfishly don’t think I can deal with that (and the increased risk of 🤱🏻). I’m all for ‘doing your best’ and that being good enough but I can’t help feel conflicted with this. It’s sticking with me, maybe because it’s something in my every day life.
Does anyone have any useful information to share or having the same difficulty? The life of convenience really isn’t on our side! This also means I am having a #veganfail on the daily 🙄
I found this @bu.deli ‘butter’ at Harvest Wholefoods @huckleberrynz Not strictly Paleo as does have some rice milk and grape seed oil, but doesn’t have much. Tested it on @venerdi_bread and the 8 year old gave it a thumbs up. Well she didn’t know what she was eating but she didn’t push it away in disgust, so that’s a thumbs up. I’ll try it in baking and see how it goes. Good dairy free alternative possibly. It was decently priced too.
Chocolate banana yoghurt bowl 😄🌱
I had this every day for a while so I thought I would share the recipe 😅
- 1 1/2 frozen bananas
- 1/2 tablespoon peanut butter
- 4 (or more) tablespoons of vegan yoghurt (I recommend vanilla or coconut but plain goes just as well)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons (or more) of cacao powder
- a pinch of vanilla (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)
Blend all the ingredients in a (high speed) blender
Top your bowl with whatever you like (I recommend banana and peanut butter + seasonal fruit)
I don't really measure so I had to guess a little with the measurements and when I make it always comes out a little different (for example when I'm using a different type of yoghurt) but I think it's equally delicious every time 🙆🙈
After a long bike ride in the heat I’m starving! I made this Tomato Veggie Rotini and the most delicious ancho Chile chickpeas I’ve ever made!
To make, I basically made my Tomato Rice Veggie Soup 2 days ago and instead of rice added a big handful of rotini pasta and overnight it soaked into this awesome thick pasta stew texture. YUM.
I first downed a delicious Vitamin C loaded creamy smoothie-see my stories for how I made it with a special ingredient. And NOW I’m about to stuff my face with this pasta! CARB HEAVEN.
