One #zerowastemitt completed for @suzannekarnes test knit. I’ve really enjoyed knitting this, the Seed stitch is very forgiving of #handspunyarn. So the main yarn which is the green with a little blue, red and brown in it is the #rosefibre I spun (dyed by @themermaidspurseyarns ) and it looks and feels gorgeous. The darker blue non-shiny yarn, with different tones, is a cotton yarn again dyed by @themermaidspurseyarns . Both this and the rose were gifts from @bedcrafter in a vegan yarn & fibre swap. And then the creamy pinky beige yarn which you can see at the bottom and top of the mitt is the #soysilk yarn I spun from fibre naturally dyed by @flora_fibres_yarn. I think all three work really well together and the mitt is warm and cosy. Suzanne is also a pleasure to test for 😀. Hopefully second mitt will be done over the weekend. #testknitting#veganknitting#plantfiber#plantfibre#knittingmittens#useyourhandspun
fiber and fats party in this lil farmers market haul 🍅🥑🥗
(and don’t you fret, those plastic bags have been reused many a time since I forgot my canvas ones a few weeks ago 🙈)
Having knit 2.5 tops in Tencel (the 0.5 being my handspun Tencel/Mint blend) I can absolutely say it is lovely to work with and lovely to wear. I’m wondering how it could be used in cold weather knits. There will be more Tencel in my life. #tencelyarn#glaukopis#veganyarn#plantfiber
More and more consumers are opting for biodegradable single use products made of plant fibres as a way to counter single use plastics.
But here's the catch: this choice works only if the biodegradable product is composted and goes back to earth. In most cases these end up in the landfills.
In the picture you see our dedicated waste segregation corner at the SBI Green Marathon Delhi. We segregated 660 kg of biodegradable materials and deposited it to the local composting plant, making sure it goes back to earth. 💚
On a sunny Wednesday a little Dorimu bear met a friendly Bee. A wee Bee liked the big soft Bear very much and they became best friends. Since that Wednesday the little Dorimu Bear and his friendly Bee are always together 🐝♥️🐻 Both, the Dorimu Bear and the Dorimu Bee are made of plant fibres and therefore vegan friendly. They come in a glass dome with a wooden base in a white finish 🐻💕🐝
