Maranta leuconeura var. erythrophylla hanging from some new overhead areas in the kitchen. I noticed some mealybugs on this one, so I’m bringing in some lacewing larvae again this week in hopes that they’ll take care of them. But first, I’ll take it down and give it some good sharp sprays with my hose; and then some horticultural insect spray to coat those little buggers. Then come the lacewings! Triple threat! 🌿
Update: indoor plant day 62, still living and thriving in the bathroom. #lovefern#prayerplant 🌈🍃 as much as I love indoor plants for not only their color and texture, there are so many health benefits ❤️ that is of course... if you can keep them alive 🤦♀️ it’s more difficult for some of us.
Maranta leuconeura AKA Prayer Plant. I have a history with these babies. First saw one in Asheville in a plant shop and thought it was the most unique thing ever! Well... now you can get them almost anywhere but they’re still oh so lovely! Yeah... I killed the crap out of that first one. The difference between plant Mom lyfe and real Mom lyfe: Plant mommies will have a few expected casualties... the goal is to learn more each time. Here’s to second chances! 🌿
