Happy 2nd day of autumn! Instead of mourning the death of summer, I put together a little list of things you can do to live in the moment and enjoy fall for the magical time of year it is.
Hiking: Go for a hike. Fall does not mean the end of outdoor exploration. Take in the new colors this season brings.
Apple picking: Apples are delicious. Apple cider is delicious. Apple pie is delicious. An apple orchard usually has all of these things.
Football: Whether you’re losing money to your coworker on fantasy football leagues or you just need something to watch on Sundays, football is good for getting your frustrations out and yelling at people you don’t know through your tv.
Pumpkin carving: Creative outlet and new lighting fixture. Win win.
Volunteer: Try getting out all of those good deeds before the guilt rush the holidays bring. The soup kitchen doesn’t need you on thanksgiving. They need you every other day of the year.
Treat yo self: Retail therapy has only let me down when I order through amazon. Go to a store. Get that overly chunky scarf. Treat yo self. New seasons call for it.
I had an idea the other week...since I love carving pumpkins and doing acts of kindness I wanted to combine them. I figured I could sell pumpkins to help buy yarn to crochet scarves for the homeless like I did last year. Whatever foam pumpkins don’t sell I’d donate them to the children’s hospital again. If anyone is interested in ordering a pumpkin let me know.
