Today is really busy....I had appointments/meetings at three different locations..managing two jobs is quite challenging but also a chance...and life does not get boring😂😂😂😂. To be honest.. I am feeling much better than the time before. I believe that I just "need" some challenging tasks in my life...what about you? ...

Guys we had an amazing time in monopoli. And this is the dinner we prepared on our last night. Was a good time...
Now to the main topic. Last time I talked about the common nutrients we can't get by eating food.
But i forgot to mention two other nutrients, which could be needed by a lot of people, who are struggling with any kinds of issues.
I'm talking here about vitamin a and epa/dha. Normally your body produces vit a out of beta carotene and epa/dha out of ALA.
So for a person with health problems chances are big your body will not convert enough of these nutrients, so I recommend supplementing with those two.
Of course only if needed. But you can also experiment with them like I do. It's not so easy to overdose on them, so don't worry. A good amount epa/dha to start or for maintenance is 2mg. Vitamin a is a bit more complex.
But it's really important to get high quality supps. Good supps don't contain any synthetic chemicals you have never heard of like magnesium stearate etc. And they should be at least natural plant extracts!

Lunch today was this delicious red kuri squash and black bean quesadilla! This recipe is completely plant-based/vegan as well as free from grains, gluten, soy, and oil. This recipe makes one quesadilla. However you could alter the ingredients easily for serving up to 4 -
▪️ 1/4th of a roasted red kuri squash -
▪️ 1/4th cup of black beans -
▪️ 1/2 onion -
▪️ tortillas of your choice (I used @sietefoods almond flour tortillas) -
▪️ garlic powder, chili powder, cayenne, cumin and sea salt -
How to make -
▪️ remove seeds/insides of kuri squash then slice and bake in oven on 400 degrees F for about 40-45 minutes -
▪️ slice onion then caramelize on stove over med-high heat until onions are brown. Use water and a non-stick pan to prevent onions from sticking -
▪️once cooked, mash squash with a fork and add in seasonings to taste -
▪️ spread squash mash on tortilla then add black beans and onions and top with another tortilla. -
▪️ cook in non-stick pan on med-high heat until tortilla is browned on both sides. -
▪️ cut into pieces and enjoy with hot sauce or on its own! -

I know I posted this just a few days ago, but every single time I scroll through my photos I honestly drool a little more. ❤️🤤 So in case you missed it here we have a berry sauce consisting of fresh and frozen raspberries, a few frozen blackberries, + maple water, swirled into banana nice cream with maple syrup and vanilla. Should you follow a raw food diet?
Raw food diets have gained popularity, especially alongside the veganism and detox trends, but should you be eating a diet comprising of predominantly raw foods?
The first thing to consider is your own digestive capabilities. Those with weak ‘digestive fire’, or what Ayurveda would call ‘Agni’ (specifically ‘Jatharagni’) will be unable to properly digest raw foods. Whilst raw foods do contain the enzymes which would ordinarily be destroyed in the cooking process, the foods do still need to be broken down through mastication (in the mouth) and through the acid of the stomach.
When William Donald Kelley developed his 10 metabolic types the subcategories took into account an individual’s ‘efficiency’ - those that were very efficient were able to extract the maximum amount of nutrients from even small quantities of food, meaning that not only can they maintain weight and health on less food, but also can eat a predominantly raw diet.
As digestive efficiency decreases down to the very inefficient types the percentage of cooked food increases. Not only this but these inefficient types require much more food to maintain their weight and health and will likely need higher doses of supplemented nutrients.
In Ayurvedic medicine the largest meal of the day should be eaten at midday when the sun is the highest in the sky, suggesting a link between the strength of the sun’s rays and our digestive capabilities. Living in an area with less sunlight will then likely reduce digestive strength, and when combined with cold, wet conditions would be unsuitable for a diet high in cold, wet foods; a principle taught in TCM and Ayurveda.
Finally, one should consider any current health issues. Damp, cold conditions include phlegm (when dampness gets into the lungs) and diarrhoea (when dampness gets into the large intestines). These are both examples of a time when it would be unwise to consume raw foods.
Whenever a ‘new’ diet hits the scene there will be people that find it incredibly helpful. Remember that they are not you, and consider your own constitution, health, environment and goals before adopting the latest trend.
