Notice something missing? A few letters may not seem like a big deal, but for patients who need A, B & O blood types – these letters mean life. You are the #MissingType! Help the Red Cross fill the gaps by making an appointment to give blood.
As someone of many who routinely needs blood, it's direly important that there are as many volunteers as possible. Donating is extremely helpful for the survival of many patients, especially for those with rare blood types, chronic conditions, and recurrent blood loss. I am an O- blood type, so receiving blood is difficult for me! Up to 4.5 million Americans can die a year without lifesaving blood donations.
Someone needs blood every two seconds. That's 172,800 people a day!!! Only 37 percent of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood - less than 10 percent do annually. About one in seven people entering a hospital need blood. One pint of blood can save up to three lives. One person's lifetime endeavor of donating blood can save over 1000 people! Get out and start saving lives today! [REPOST @curtisleejamie ] - #regrann#blood#redcross#donate#pinterest#Insta#red#cross#today#life
Days like this make me so happy to be part of this organization. I’m extremely proud of all my friends and colleagues that were able to help these hundreds of people that started a new life today 🛳 I wish I could have been there physically but I was definitely there in spirit, every step of the way. Thank you all for your sacrifice and your help; and to the warriors that arrived today, welcome 😊 I hope to see some of you soon #Proud#RedCross#Volunteer
Me & phlebotomist Renee out here making a difference this #FathersDay. This was my first time giving platelets (the yellow bag of goo in the background) and I'll certainly do it again. Also, this tops off my third gallon!
The #redcross is always in need for your donations. And every two seconds someone needs blood. Help out your fellow human by scheduling an appointment. You can do it, I believe in you!
Hydrating your body is extremely important as the summer days roll in ☀️
Here are some tips on how to stay sun safe ☀️
Reduce the time spent in sun between 10am-3pm, always wear a brimmed hat, sunscreen every 2 hours, water and electrolyte drinks (ie gatorade) throughout the day, cool packs on your core, avoid caffeine (coffee) and alcohols, eat lots of healthy foods and reduce excessive sweating and exercise in the intense sun!
Have an amazing week. Be sure to check out our website - linked in bio- to find first aid courses, swimming lessons and Babysitting courses for the summer season!
